#BirdOfTheDay #FunnyFaces I took this today, on my first day out in a week! It was absolutely tipping down with rain and freezing. I don’t think this Tawny Frogmouth pair really thought it funny.
#BlueSkyArtShow #ECK All #quiet on the river at Mannum in Sth Australia 12 July 2025 It felt like I barely breathed for 20 mins as I took photo after photo in the changing light.
#BirdOfTheDay Alt #Finches A tree full of finches in northern South Australia
#PalacesAndGardens #DoNotEnter What was a restricted area within the Port Arthur Penal Colony
I’m unable to sleep thanks to this nuisance Covid bout, so sorting through cheerful photos instead. #Bloomscrolling works 😃 Bougainvillea against a white wall. #ColourADay #RedWed
#AlphabetChallenge #WeekAforAbandoned Somewhere on the way to the Flinders Ranges. I forget where.
#BirdOfTheDay #Lifer I think this is an Australian Pratincole. It threw me because I saw it in an arid outback environment in central Australia. Although a wader, and there was no water within cooee of where we were, I later found out that they breed inland.Terrible photo. No camera to hand.
#ThickTrunkTuesday A Ponytail Palm. A beautiful example I saw last week. The one I have been growing for ten years is but a wavy stick by comparison.
I’ve let my tea go cold, distracted by the late afternoon light, and a wondering mind. I’m WFH because I have a respiratory virus and then my internet service conveniently crashed. I was not sad.
Im this photo! It’s light playing tricks on a predominantly orange and green King Parrot.
#BirdOfTheDay theme is #Ebony&Ivory, birds that have Black & White plumage. I chose my old friend, who hangs out in the garden with me, often with her mate. In summer she lets me know when the family need water and I turn on the sprinkler for them. Australian Magpie.
