It's a subtle but important distinction. Some of the best looking gundams feature fairly restrained color schemes. But those small splashes of color where they do appear actually matter a lot for these designs and it's something I feel the Helix is missing.

My one gundam hot take for the day is if I must pick one overly greebled AAA style gundam design, I like the Gundam Helix more than the EX. AU setting helps justify the departure and while I really don't like how detailed it is, the silhouette and proportions work for me better.
