Ray Harryhausen fanatic. Film fan. Retro gamer, board gamer. All round geek.
Rewatched Stranger Things (2016-2025). Although s1 is the best, overall its still a consistently great show. Like if in the 80s Steven Spielberg had directed a series based on a Stephen King franchise. So many iconic characters and moments. A show I keep and will keep returning to.
But I thought these people are always going on about how much better things were in the 70s?
Local charity shop have realised stopping their 10 for £1 deal and charging at least £1 a disc wasn't a good move, so have compromised and its currently 5 for £1 (except on some box sets) #physicalmedia
Never had a Tim Tam and not able to try the real thing, so not sure how these compare but they are delicious.
Day 2. The trolley may have moved but the dogs still spotted it! #TrolleyWatch
I often share physical media I buy, but I have never posted a photo of the games I have on display right in front of me as I sit at the computer.
This months cult calendar poster - This Island Earth. I'm sure I saw it as a kid, but need to rewatch it as an adult.
No cheating, the last saved celebrity is your therapist. I know exactly what he'd prescribe.
Rewatched The War Between The Land and the Sea (2025). I guess the last Doctor Who show we get to see for a while, even if it hasn't got the Doctor in it. But this mini series does show that its created a big enough Whoniverse that you don't need the lead guy. Not a perfect series but lots to like.
Ray Harryhausen was born on this day 106 years ago. Anyone who knows me knows that he was and continues to be my idol. Here is my favourite gif of the master at work.
Amazon Prime Day adverts used to be set on a doorstep, to get you used to their drivers just dumping your parcels at your door. Now they are increasingly trying to get you to use locker pick ups to save themselves even more money, their latest advert shows a locker room. Subtle.
Here's sisters Molly & Dolly we adopted last year. Same litter and same markings, but one is double the size and weight of the other..
Watched Jurassic World: Dominion (2022). They managed to tie in most of the legacy characters nicely and again had some nice action scenes, but it didn't go anywhere near far enough with where the last one ended & the plot was a bit see-through.
This month on the cult calendar is another Flash Gordon. Or rather the same Flash Gordon but a different poster.
Watched Amityville Horror (2005). A totally pointless remake that offers nothing new. In fact while the original goes to great pains to make it open to interpretation whether the real life incidents were down to supernatural possession or a psychotic breakdown, this one leans into the former.
Watched Halloween: Resurrection (2002). It is a snapshot of the absolute worse early 2000 horror films trying to flog a dead franchise. Absolutely awful & not even entertaining enough to be so bad its good, it's just bad. Really, really bad. You're hoping all of the awful people get killed.
This is the current box of dog poo bags which I ordered more of, in fact I have them on a monthly repeat order, but with the size similarity its no wonder if the labels got mixed up. And no, I won't be using the toothbrush on the dogs - either end :D
This was meant to be a pack of 100 dog poo bags. I feel sorry for whoever has ordered an electric toothbrush & has received poo bags :D
We don't usually see each others headers, but here's mine. Quote post with yours (if you feel like it)
