My character is “Chaotic Good” for the remainder of this campaign. Writer, combat veteran, outdoorsman, former attorney, 35 Whelen enthusiast. Anti-authoritarian, pro-democratic socialist. Universal Healthcare & Basic Income NOW!
He’s the guv, he’s got state troopers, he needs to go check it out. Enough is enough.
This is what happens when you’re an Ole Miss fan in Alaska and it’s the off-season. I’ve named the two swords Hotty and Toddy.
Some people see Jesus in their toast, or a weeping Virgin Mary appears in the mist. My cornbread sticks in the pan and I get Australia.
Karl Kolchak, Chicago reporter, of “Night Stalker” fame, is the bastard son of G.E. Bentley, Chicago reporter, of “Lawrence of Arabia” fame. I’d wondered where Darren McGavin’s perfect Kolchak character sprung from, and rewatching William Holden’s Bentley I saw it. Same hat, suit, rhythms. Eureka!

🤣 Fair. Here’s one in case you ever visit Homer — it’s so good you gotta be very intentional about going. They sell out. RARELY are there day-olds. And the building you see next door is full of seafood just dragged out of the sea. The Bagel Shop uses it, slaps it on a bagel or into a shmear.
One of the best soundtracks that never was — or almost never was, not for YEARS until they could get the rights all worked out. Used to have to buy and bootleg songs from all over to try to put it together. But “Stop the World” was the anchor.
It’s a really tough time. Just wrote a play about it. (Entered it in a ten minute play contest) But I’ve NEVER seen such a widespread consensus about what needs to happen (universal healthcare/income, living wage, housing/voting reform, expanding the court) and that’s encouraging. Stay strong!
Killing in the name of reducing the U.S. population to 100 million “white” people. That’s their final goal. It’ll take disease, deportation, remigration, disappearances, and plain old fashioned murders to get there, but it’s their plan for black, brown and lots of white citizens and non-citizens.
And treat them like nazis. Don’t forget that. It’s hard but it’s fair.
BOLO — Jonathan Ross, 43 years old (photo below). Status: armed and dangerous, involved in two known shootings, one of which killed a woman in Minneapolis, MN, Renee Nicole Good, as she retreated from him in her vehicle. If sighted do not approach. Warn community of location as soon as possible.
Maybe they just haven’t finished picking out the rescued pilot and the theme song yet. They might’ve run into an Old Shu situation. *whispers* “You can tell if they put something in the beans … so you don’t have to fear it.”
When people shout “what would the founding fathers have said???” I throw them one of these — the first ever U.S. penny, as designed by Benjamin Franklin. On the front are 13 rings representing the 13 states, but on the back is this caption: MIND YOUR BUSINESS
I know I’m too far into the weeds on this — but in the new movie Tornado (2026) on Prime, a coming-of-age Samurai-revenge tale set in 1700’s lower Scotland, the swords bother me. The Samurai uses a katana and Tornado uses a ko katana. But both have WWII hand-guards/tsuba, 150 years too early. See?
Here’s a good bear track I.D. guide. The 1st shows an I.D. comparison, the 2nd photo shows my boot next to a Brownie front paw print, and the 3rd photo shows my boot next to a black bear front paw print. Here there be monsters! (Though they do be cuddly looking — I don’t hunt Brownies/grizzlies.)
The summers will make you move here — but the winters will make you LOVE it!
God bless the Porcupine Theater and Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic for putting on the Adult Prom tonight! It was a much needed excuse to get out and dance and spike the punch. Love my little Alaska community of Homer!!!
I feel like we’re continuing the series of guns where “concept fucks” but “execution sucks”. That’s where I’m at anyway. Sucks.
I might buy this brass top cane as a gift for Rep. Lee and send it to her, along with a lithograph of Rep. Brooks and Senator Sumner. Brooks was seccesh trash, but Rep. Lee is doing God’s work. Maybe she’ll take both to her next committee meeting with Rep. Comer. I mean, there’s precedent.
Not suggesting this and you shouldn’t be driven to this — — there was an artist across Kachemak Bay from us, Diana Tillion, who’d run out of supplies sometimes, so she’d capture an octopus, get some ink, then release it. She’d use the ink for watercolors. Her work is pretty cool. And FDT.
If you see this, post a vampire who isn’t Dracula. “You’re so COOL Brewster!”
Fucks — heavy as fuck I bet, but fucks. Now, hear me out, hold on one second, open your mind and imagine with me: mini-shells! Mini-shells, buckshot or slugs, if an adapter would work, could take the capacity from 12 to like 20. That’s a lot of bang-bang and reduced recoil.
What is this unconstitutional-violation-of-the-First-and-Fifth-Amendment b.s. I got in the mail? Anyone else getting these? Oh I’m REQUIRED to answer your community survey BY LAW am I? Okay, I’ll see your law and raise you a Bill of Rights and a go f**k yourself, trump Department of Commerce.
Seriously. But I only use my UV lights for my uranium glass and such. And my Geiger counter for my Chernobly energy drinks and Nuka Cola.
Good call on The Thing, as much as I love it. Since it’s set in Antarctica, technically it’s a SUMMER movie, but good call. Same for Hot Tub Time Machine, good call. Here’s my Chernobly energy drink with real bits of radiation I added to it (yes, really).
