Along the Edge est une expérience narrative qui parle de reconstruction. Du poids du passé. De la difficulté d’avancer, de grandir, sans se renier. Il ne promet pas le bonheur. Il parle d’équilibre. De la nécessité d’accepter ses peurs sans les laisser décider à notre place. On ne guérit pas en effaçant ce qui a été. On avance en choisissant, encore et encore, la personne que l’on décide de devenir.

One of the best quirks of giving away Along the Edge for free for a couple of days is that I get to read a big bunch of new reviews. Some of them are totally troll, mind you, but some are very thoughtful, like this one, which really gets what I wanted to tell with this game (and the next ones).

What truly distinguishes Along the Edge is the way it treats player agency not merely as branching paths, but as a tool for shaping identity. Decisions influence how Daphné responds to others, how she processes trauma, and how she positions herself within the small community she encounters. These choices accumulate gradually, affecting relationships, career directions, and even how Daphné carries herself visually, reinforcing the idea that personal growth or withdrawal is rarely defined by a single moment. The narrative resists simple morality, often presenting options that feel emotionally honest rather than clearly right or wrong. As a result, the player is encouraged to reflect on intent and consequence, making each playthrough feel like a distinct interpretation of the same life rather than a checklist of alternate endings.

Took us two years and some, but we did it. 🎉 Lesson learned: don't shadow drop your game and hope for the best. (even if it's a very low budget remake of your first game and you don't have the money to both market it properly and fund on your next title).

Getting a new Steam review never misses to make my day.

Positive Steam review for Nova-box's Game Echoes. Text of the review:

"I have no idea why this title is so obscure! It's a very good lovecraftian mystery novel from a wonderful Novabox! You never know... Anyway, it's very captivating, the music is chill as usual, the story is full of twists, the graphics very basic but nevertheless stylish (apart from the main character having 6 fingers sometimes, but who says it's not an effect of his special condition though, hmmm).
It would benefit from more manageble saves system and the tree of endings to check if you gathered them all, but even without it, it's a very solid story - and this is precisely what we're looking for in visual novels."
