Looking forward this week to speak at the North American Game Industry Summit (NAGIS)! It's a new event for me and I'm so glad to return to Edmonton after far too long (after starting my direct client support for BioWare 20 years ago, I haven't been back since!).
To commemorate this 45th anniversary of the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark - a film which has had tremendous influence over my career - I had the chance to redesign my dining room. Nothing like eating your meal and worrying about which floor tile you might be stepping on! :D #IndianaJones
So a quick 1 day pitstop at home and I'm off bright and early today to speak in eastern Canada. First is the Atlantic AI Summit in Fredericton, New Brunswick and then the XP Game Connect Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I've never been to either location so I'm really looking forward to visiting!
Really looking forward to my upcoming trip, speaking at Digital Dragons in Krakow and Nordic Game in Malmö, with time spent also in Stockholm and Copenhagen!
I didn't realize until today that I'm now a legitimate Marvel character - thanks to the Marvel Multiverse RPG module which was released for Free RPG Day in 2025! I guess I now have a really easy cosplay option for my next con 😃

As of today, I've been self-employed for 21 years via my Geogrify culturalization consulting. I never imagined I'd manage to make it this far - I remain both humbled and amazed. To all my colleagues and clients who have shown faith and in my capabilities, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
GDC was a fantastic week this year and I had a great time! My sessions were packed with attendees and I had so many great meetings and encounters! The scale of the show was impacted by industry conditions and current geopolitics, but I met so many people for whom this was their first GDC.
I'm very happy to announce that I'll once again be speaking at @officialgdc.bsky.social this year! My solo lecture focuses on the incredible work to build the cultural world of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. I hope to see you there as we converge on the key game creation event of the year.
Another year, another great time at the DICE Summit! It was refreshing to reconnect and catch up with many colleagues and to hear a greater sense of optimism, with a dose of caution. I was also humbled to get so much positive feedback from people about my work and some of my recent lectures!
Off to the DICE Summit today in #LasVegas, looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends and making new ones! If you're attending and want to catch up about any numbe rof things (especially the challenge of making games in a polarized world), let me know!
I'm heading to DICE as usual and I'm looking forward to reconnecting and having great conversations with colleagues both familiar and new. Happy to meet up to catch up, but also open to discussing culturalization services, SetJetters (the screen tourism app), and many other industry topics.
I'm happy to be speaking again at Pocket Gamer Connects in London next week, addressing the challenges of making games in a polarized world! After that, I'll be spending several days in Northern Ireland before I act as the MC and a roundtable leader at the game industry Leadership Day in Dublin!
2025 was another crazy year for travel, and incredibly busy work wise and I’m so very grateful for it. And 2026 is looking to be equally busy! To all the events and organizations who invited me to visit and speak: THANK YOU so very much! Best wishes everyone for a happy Gregorian New Year!
And for the final trip of the year, I'm off to #NewZealand to givbe a keynote at the Creative Tech Summit organized by Screen Wellington! Given it's my first time to #Aotearoa, I'll be spending an extra two weeks to enjoy and explore. :) I've been looking forward to this trip for a long while!

Today I'm excited to be headed to North Macedonia (for the first time) to keynote Game Dev Rev, their inaugural game industry event! And then it's off to Poznan to speak again at the always fantastic Game Industry Conference. If you'll be attending either event, I look forward to crossing paths!
On Saturday, @setjetters.bsky.social was honored to be at the Old Royal Naval College to help them celebrate their 100th anniversary as a filming location. We also participated in the successful @guinnessworldrecords.com attempt for the Largest gathering of people dressed as film and TV characters!
