Good morning from Christchurch, where my blueberry bush may be realising that being covered in flowers in August was maybe not the best idea
The captain's chair tips! You can do "Oh no, the ship has been hit, everyone stagger to the left!" Yes, I am working, why do you ask...
It’s my day off, so of course I have a ton of stuff to do, but I find myself idly flipping through this book, which I gave to Mum and brought home when she died.
It wasn’t, by any chance, this book? Which I gave to my mother and took when she died because we both loved those roses so much.
For the last couple of weeks, I have been knitting a blanket for Karl’s semi-stray cat, Not. Tonight I laid the squares out on the floor to pin them for sewing. Min has scraped them all into a pile and is sitting on them. Yes, there are pins in that.
I don’t suppose anyone in Chch wants a couple of monarch caterpillars? I do not have enough food for them
Not to imply anything about Tiny Min, but his car tree appears to be developing an issue…
The birds hang upside down off the sunflower head, pull out the seeds, and then use the back of the head as a table to crack open the seeds and leave the shells.
A leaflet for Round the Bays Christchurch just arrived in my letterbox. “We are pleased to contribute to the liveliness, diversity and identity of Wellington…”
I had to take a couple of weeks off from it when I was sick, but the Lego Enterprise is done.
Min woke me up at 5am this morning with a horribly familiar noise pattern. Got up later to find this, which tells me the whole story. There is a mouse/rat, probably alive, somewhere in my lounge, absolutely nowhere near the game shelves.
One of the fledglings growing up in my front garden. Yes, she is sitting on a stone cat. No, she had no problem with me getting close enough to take this photo.
Karl gave me this for Christmas. Me: A strawberry thief jug! K: It’s a vase. If you call it a jug, you’ll never use it. Me, delighted: A strawberry thief vase!
Turns out the Enterprise does not deal well with being enthusiastically nuzzled by giant cats.
Karl got three wee kits with it. Vincent has finished his coffee house. I’ve been working on this for a couple of hours and I’m two-thirds through.
Huh. In my lounge right now, two little glass birds that, if my memory is correct, my mum bought me from Hokitika Glass in the early 80s.
