Was super surprised to see myself, @zarafa.bsky.social & @omglenn2k.bsky.social on HBO’s The Man Will Burn (episode 2) Those clips were filmed at the unofficial renegade event in Sep 2021. Series is still airing, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you were curious about the history of the event!
Jank-tastic engineering method to load and unload these 350lb speakers from a trailer quickly. 5 poles and a winch! Had to reinforce the top pole to prevent permanent elastic deformation, but hey it works

Previous iteration caught fire after a cell shorted to the frame. Only lost 1 of the 24 cells. Rebuilt packs and it is pretty dang solid now
We got the ol’ cat running again. First test cut with it. Needs a bit of work, but it survived the winter :D
Weatherproofed top and underside! I don’t think it’s standard to stain and seal the subfloor, but I don’t want the sun and rain to wreck my floor before I can cover it with walls and a roof. Need to update my CAD drawing to accommodate the newly obtained windows, then finally framing can begin!
I found a killer deal on some windows. 90% off retail, all vacuum seals still intact :p Just needs a good cleaning.
I now finally have a completed floor :p Lots of layers of polyiso foam boards and XPS boards boards underneath Just gotta seal the underside and it’s finally time to put some framing up

I put out a mini fridge as payment for how many deliveries I get every week. The USPS lady has been making drink requests.
The more I see the world go to shit the more I want to complete this dang tiny home lol. Finished up the base reinforcements and am almost done running EMT conduit and rewiring everything. Close to putting a floor on finally!

Day 10 or so of welding. It’s so much work lol. Never welded before but I’m getting kinda sorta ok-ish at it now. Welded on 24 side extension pieces. Starting on the floor joists now.
My Plex server is taking up 50TB of my server. I’m almost out of space 😭 I’ve got 24 4TB drives in a RaidZ2 array (2x12 vdevs)
And also a great idea on the bands. Is that something that’s commonly used? I’ve been there before to the point where you laugh at your own failure to construct even a couple words into a basic sentence because trying to describe it would be absolutely pointless ;p
Obtained a road grader today. Gonna be super useful for building our road to the property and maintaining it over the years. I’m imagining some fun fursuit photo ops with it :p
Getting ready to start construction on this tiny home. I'm not a real architect or structural engineer, but I think the design is coming along well! Modeled everything to the best of my ability with calipers and took as many measurements as I could.
They gave me some soda, a large bottle of cold sparking water, bought me a coffee and made 100% sure I got on the next train back to where I was going. I was able to replace the clothes I lost as I went on my way towards Greece.
To my dismay, the location on the map was somewhat what I was expecting. A dumpster. Or a few of them to be specific. My one and only complaint is that MacBooks don’t have the same tracking chip as AirTags/iPhones. All it could tell me is that it was nearby.
I had to move on. I took the next train onwards to Romania. The next day I got a ping on find my that my laptop had been seen! It was still at the same train station as yesterday, but suspiciously close to a small building. Undeterred and hopeful, I immediately took the next train back.
Dealing with Hungarian police was a pleasant experience. They must’ve sent 10 officers out in this small village of 50 people. They were thorough, but ultimately couldn’t help me.
I was the only person on the train, and was gone for 3 minutes before I realized my mistake. I went back to find it gone. Used an AirTag to trace it to a completely different carriage, shoved under a seat. It was empty. All my clothes, plus laptop were gone.
I never thought I’d be dumpster diving in a rural town in southern eastern Hungary… But I found my stolen laptop with the help of this kind soul! Context: In a tired haze I was rushed off a train to switch trains. I left my suitcase in the overhead storage.
