Was back in Liverpool tonight for a goodbye pint with a lad who wasn't my student, but who I convinced to go to Liverpool to do a masters with Chris, my PhD supervisor. God I miss this city. It's so good to be home.

Another one from the same trip. It's mad, cos Gio (centre) is a bloke I met in like 2013 ish when I accidentally saw his band at a tiny festival in Wales. We've been mates since. I kinda want the band to play my wedding so I'll have to price that with him n the lads 😂😂
3 years since I (officially, we'd been apart for months) split with my then-mrs and promptly fucked off to Milan to watch my mates' bands. I feel the itch. Also, I am massive here. Christ.

Been chasing up the stragglers in work with silly emails (left), and enjoying some success with it (right). I am at 94% student engagement so far this academic year. The average is 54%. Quite pleased with that.

Fantastic night at Hed (PE), Spineshank(!!!!), and Drowning Pool. Oh it was like I was 13 again, but with arthritic feet and fingers.
Students got wind of one of my dogs dying, and did a very lovely thing.
Fab when this happens. It's nice to know they feel supported, but I cannot claim any real part of this fantastic success.
I will let you know! Looking forward to getting into it. Just distracted at the moment by this, which is a reflection of my mood rather than your book! I aim to have read both by end of Sept 💪💪
I'm doing an Instagram live session this week alongside Eric Kaplan (BBT, Futurama), Prof Dave Webster (formerly of Liverpool), and of course Jay Thakkar. It'll be happening at 00.01 GMT Thurs 21st Aug (midnight is too ambiguous!). So that's just gone midnight, Thursday morning/Weds night.
