That said, it only seems to be doing this in the one comparison. On the same page I got the below which matches what you are describing.

Another screen grab from Nvidia's website comparing graphics with and without DLSS5, again using Grace from Resident Evil: Requiem. This time, her facial model before and after appears unchanged despite different lighting.

What confuses me is that much of the marketing uses this shot of Grace for the first comparison, and in it her eyes and lips seem to be bigger and shaped differently than before.
