Last week, @michigantech.bsky.social Great Lakes Research Center (GLRC) and GLOS cohosted an Underwater Glider Pilot Training at the GLRC in Houghton, MI. Twelve participants from seven Great Lakes groups participated in the training, which was led by Teledyne - manufacturers of Slocum gliders.

Tomorrow, August 8th, GLOS will be at the Great Lakes Surf Festival in Muskegon, MI. Whether spending all day on the beach or sneaking a break to go for a dip, we are going to be prepared by checking conditions on Seagull Coast.

@michigantech.bsky.social GLRC has three full size buoys on Lake Superior in 2026, providing a wide array of parameters, including some novel water chemistry and quality measurements, and giving a better understanding of what happens out on the biggest of the big lakes.
