Yes, please! I know it will probably be a while but definitely an Asset Store feature I'm excited about.
Renamed callable_method_pointer.h to callable_mp.h in Godot 4.7 but none of the files content changed. As someone who makes weird, arbitrary name changes I must sympathize...
Working on a tiny Bash script to assist in multiplayer testing on Steam. Seems to be working good so far but requires additional Steam accounts per instance. This process doesn't need Flatpak, Snap, etc. but does create additional local user accounts.
In the end, it lets me just add/remove components from existing docks (only GodotSteam's new dock). For now just ways to auto-update the GDExtension and GodotSteamKit but there are plans for a lot more stuff...
Feels really hacky but if both GodotSteam's GDExtension and GodotSteamKit are installed, GodotSteamKit will edit the extension's dock with its extra content. If the extension is not installed, GodotSteamKit will just add its own dock instead.
Work is speeding along for Skillet's demo which should go live for October's Steam NextFest. The source code for the demo will be public sometime in early November.
Finally finished converting the original 2D environment over to 3D for our upcoming game / tutorial Skillet. Now time for getting the arena put together and the first match type done so networking logic can begin.
Coming next week to a MakerTube near you! makertube.net/a/godotsteam...
The first wave of Godot-made games' cosmetics are now ready for Skillet. I'll be looking for more in October. 💪
Today in the Skillet Dev Lounge stream, there was some work on character skins and Godette is making an appearance as part of the Godot Dinner Party pack!
Thanks to the folks who came and worked on their stuff while I streamed a Skillet art day. Sometimes at the end, however, you get stuff like this... Using the official @kenney.bsky.social googly eyes and calling the face texture, appropriately, Kenney.
Starting today, I will attempt to work on and stream #GodotSteam's Skillet development three times a week. Each day will focus on a different aspect of the project; each week I will set new tasks. Still considering other streaming places outside of our Discord but this is very boring work to watch.
Got bored of working on code so made a first-draft capsule art for Skillet. Now back to the less fun stuff!
The next step has happened; big thanks to @twinpixelriot! #GodotSteam's open-source, free-to-play game, Skillet, is chugging along! Only six dev sessions in and much progress has been made; still much to do!
