Random, but this screengrab from @rasbt.bsky.social’s post almost took me out, because it reminded me of gemini trying to engage in “deep” convo each time I google search a Reddit thread with its title.
Holding onto summer for as long as I can. No matter how pretty the fall colors get, autumn has nothing on this view.

Jede Einzelheit aus Christian Lindners Privatleben habe ich gegen meinen Willen erfahren, deshalb:
This was sooo tasty, it left a cinnamon-roll-shaped hole in my heart.

I will never pass an opportunity to share a classic: For those who didn’t get the reference, Glub Shitto is canon!
Well, in a true act of defiance against perfectionism, I included a “Persian flaw” in my last post: Hewitt is at UBC!
Starting the new year strong by reading about Gordon Flett’s and Paul Hewitt’s (both York University Toronto 🇨🇦) research about perfectionism and its physical and psychological toll in the New Yorker.
Every now and then, a sweetheart of a person googles my very ancient, very foreign name and kindly reports back what they think it means. I find this very thoughtful, but the internet is unfortunately an unreliable place for ancient history facts. Years ago I’d made a post on X, so here’s the rerun:

29. August is when Christmas traditionally begins in German stores.
Another orientations in the books. ✅ I was trying to get a good shot, but my background is 🤌 “under construction”.
I remember being puzzled by this at the time, and feeling stupid for not knowing what changes EM made to Grok’s underlying architecture.
I don't know how to explain it, but my new glasses look so unmistakably like glasses. If you searched "glasses" in an icon library, it would be these. If you asked a toddler to draw glasses, they would draw these. The Platonic ideal of glasses.
Putting that part of my brain still taking calls to work on one final task today: reading a report. A story missed in higher ed news is the level of institutionalization in #PhD training achieved in the past 20 years in Europe and the convergence of US-EU systems. 🔗 www.eua.eu/publications...
If you're interested in #freespeech and #academicfreedom in higher ed, this blog post comes highly recommended. tldr: Any social space with free speech, let alone a university, is rowdy. You’ve got to be okay with people not always using it wisely (short of violence, libel or similar harms ofc).
Had this statement ready for a while and was just waiting for the right moment for #eXit.
But Matti’s favorite window will always be the glass door of my parents' oven and her favorite object of surveillance - whatever snacks they are making.
If you invite Matti to your house she will spy on your neighbors. 🐶🔎🔭
Y’all received an Out of Office today because I was here, on airplane mode, conducting a workshop on international ECRs' wellbeing and how graduate institutions can support it. We had the most wonderful participants and I had a great time meeting up with colleagues from all around the country! 🤩
