Saw The Odyssey. It was really good! The only thing I may have disliked was that it couldn’t make up its mind if it wanted to be mythological or naturalistic, I guess. The movie references Hesiod, and has a theme that really applies to our culture and politics. It references the Sea People as well.

Read the Seven Epistles of Ignatius and the Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians before books were banned from the job. I will not be using alt text, since that is used to train AI. Ignatius is consumed with self loathing, and believes in the totalitarian authority of priests.

Days thirty-two through thirty four of learning to draw: I feel as though I’m starting to get better at the proportions for human bodies, the heads of raptors are so difficult to draw. I still need advice on how to draw eyes. This is all before books were banned, including sketch books.

Day thirty four of learning to draw. Worked a double shift, and sketchbooks have been banned from the workplace. So I tried to make a deck of cards to play solitaire. Are there any recommendations to improve, it still looks awful.

Days twenty eight through thirty three of learning to draw: I need to figure out how to draw eyes, especially on a character that is supposed to be 3D. I don’t know how to make them look good and expressive on a raptor. Followed a tutorial on drawing flowers. I need to plan out my drawings more.

Finished reading the Apocalypse of Elijah ten days ago. It shows a great deal of agreement with Revelation and Dispensationalism, but then it doesn’t clearly detail when a Rapture like event occurs. The chronological of event may get muddled near the end. It has Elijah and Enoch as the 2 witnesses.

Description of Heaven similar to Revelation. The book also insists on the importance of orthodoxy. Since this book was written sometime in the first, probably the second century AD, it is a reflection of early Christian belief similar to the Apostolic Fathers.
“Remember that He has prepared, thrones and crowns for you in Heaven,”

Details of events before the Tribulation are given. The Antichrist has all the powers of Christ, except for the ability to raise the dead. A physical description of the Antichrist is hilariously given.
“For behold, I will tell you his sign so that you might know him. He is a… of a skinny legged young man, having a tuft of Grey hair at the front of his bald head. His eyebrows will reach to his ears. There’s a leprous bare spot on the front of his hands. He will transform himself in the presence of those who see him. He will become a young child. He will become old. He will transform himself in every sign. But the signs of his head will not be able to change. They and you will know that he is the son of lawlessness.”

The Antichrist is described as a skinny young man with a unibrow that extends to his ears. He persecutes various saints, which contributes to arguments about if there would be saints during the Tribulation. Chapter four explicitly names Enoch and Elijah as the two witnesses. Chapter five may give a description of a mid-Tribulation Rapture.
“On that day, the Christ will pity those who are His own. And he will send from heaven his 64,000 messengers, each of whom has six wings. The sound will move the heavens and earth when they give praise and glory. now those on whose forehead the Name of Christ is written, and on whose hand is the seal – both the small and the great – will be taken up on their wings and lifted up before his wrath.”

The Antichrist will have wings of fire.
“He will burn the Earth. He will spend 1000 years on it. Because the sinners prevailed over it, He will create a new Heaven and a new earth. No deadly devil will exist in them. He will rule with His saints, ascending descending, while they are always with the messengers and they are with the Christ for 1000 years.”

I tried to smoke a clay pipe for the first time. I couldn’t get the tobacco to light or stay lit. Wasted a bunch of matches and scorched the hat with lighters. Are matches best used? What am I doing wrong? I don’t have a tamper to shove it all into the hat. I just want to be able to use this thing.

Days twenty four through twenty eight of learning to draw: as soon as I was allowed references into my work space, the quality of the drawings increased. Either that, or I don’t know how it started to look decent. I need to figure out how to draw a raptor head with an open mouth. Any advice?

21-23 May
Attempt to draw a raptor with mouth agape. Doodles that are experimenting with pencil pressure, and it resulted in something that looks like a raptor jumping over a gap. It was kind of inspiring.

28 May-1 June
More attempts to draw raptor heads and figure out eyes. The Velociraptor was based on a book intended to teach how to draw them by Brian Vitocruz.

Morning of 1 June. Worked a double shift.
Still trying to figure out how to draw eyes in a raptor head, both how they should be drawn in 3D space and the eyes themselves. The final drawing looked nice and serene to me, and I was pleased.

I applied the advice of a friend on drawing abs. As well, I really appreciate having the reference for this in front of me. The proportions might not look as thin as I wanted, but this is drastically better than my last attempt.

Finished reading the Ascension of Isaiah a week ago. It seems to have either been written by early Christians or have been edited by them. It depicts Christ as not having a physical birth, but as teleporting out of Mary’s womb (guess the birth process is too sinful). The book shows layers of Heaven.

Historical context is given for the book. The prophets are depicted as wearing hairy garments.
“And it came to pass in the 26th year of the reign of Hezekiah, King of Judah, that he called his son Manasseh. Now he was only one. And he called him into the presence of Isaiah, the son of the prophet Amoz, and into the presence of Josab, the son of Isaiah, in order to deliver the words of righteousness to him which the king himself had seen, and of the continuous judgments in torments of Gahenna, and of the prince of this world, and of his messengers, and his authorities and his powers.”

Hell is briefly mentioned. Isaiah is persecuted by a false prophet before he is sawn in two. The false prophet demands that Isaiah lie and promote King Manasseh.
“And after 332 days the Lord will come with his messengers and the armies of the holy ones from the seventh heaven, with the glory of the seventh heaven, and He will drag Belial into Gehenna and also his armies. And He will give rest of the godly whom He will find in the body in this world-“

The elect are given new bodies in the seventh heaven. Isaiah is transformed into an angel, another example of angelification, like what is found in The Revelation of Metatron.
“And I was transformed and became like a messenger. And thereon on the messenger who conducted me said to me, ‘Worship this One,’ and I worshiped and praised.”

Mary’s birth of Christ is turned into a very sterile thing. This book undermines the humanity of Christ, by depicting his humanity as a mere act. When Mary “gives birth” to Christ, the infant just teleports to some other part of the room, and Mary is just childless all the sudden. This book is from the first or second century AD, and it seems Christian’s at that time found the concept of birth so repulsive, even sinful, that Jesus had to be spared of it. Jesus then ascends after his resurrection into the seventh heaven.
“And he did not approach Mary, but kept her as a holy virgin, though with child. And he did not live with her for two months. And after two months of days, while Joseph was in his house, and Mary his wife, but both alone, it came to pass that when they were alone, that Mary immediately looked with her eyes and saw a small baby, and she was astonished. And after she had been astonished, her womb was found as formally before she had conceived. And when her husband Joseph said to her, ‘What has astonished you?’ His eyes were opened, and he saw the Infant and praised God,”
