We had a lovely couple of days in North Wales this week. Only a stones throw away from us, but it’s been decades since I’ve properly explored the beauty of Eryri (Snowdonia) and the first time for the kids (we visit the nearby beaches and Anglesey often). A lot to fall in love with in all weather.
#NowPlaying Arab Strap - Elephant Shoe. Underrated classic. Dark, minimal and the perfect album for walking home on a humid night ever so slightly drunk:
Working at home late on a Monday night is rubbish but it’s transformed by @waysideandwoodlandrecordings.bandcamp.com’s sublime Car Park Study 1 which came with these evocative post cards. More than previous Birds In The Brickwork releases I hear hints of Hood and early Mogwai. Stunning:

#Nowplaying I’ve been really taken with the new @theleaflibrary.bsky.social album - beautiful hypnotic pop; hints of A Thousands Leaves-era Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Stereolab, Lambchop; lots I love; but wrapped up in its own unique sound & vision.
Eking out the last moments of the weekend trying to finish recording a bass line. If only there was an extra day in the week for writing and recording music.
Finally picked up this absolute beauty. A gorgeous record - Rocketship - a certain smile, a certain sadness reissue on Slumberland (new to me this year but I’ve listened to it so much digitally before having the physical and it’s made such a deep impression)
