Lifelong liberal Dem eager to join hands with principled conservatives to save this republic from Trump’s authoritarian threat. Proud Central Michigan University and Wayne State Law alum. We’re right, they’re wrong!
Nothing summarizes the abject dysfunction of the Michigan GOP since at least 2010 better than their vociferous opposition to this common sense infrastructure project. These leaders of the Michigan GOP from my youth would be disgusted.
Remind me not to listen to you 2 when I’m making dinner. @michaelsteele.bsky.social
As an American citizen I apologize for the behavior of our mob boss POTUS. I am sure the shoe will be on the other foot soon enough.
SCOTUS to Congress, the lower courts, and the country when it comes to the shadow docket.
One business owner in Springfield has already endured the mob mentality unleashed by the Trump-Vance lies.
I was transported back to 1972 only this time the role of the USSR was being played by the Americans.
Someone should tell him that is what would have happened if isolationists like him were in office between 1939-41. Thank God for FDR’s vision and political skill in leading America away from isolation.
Justice Gorsuch channels Snoopy when it comes to his texualist judicial philosophy.
I noticed you avoided discussing this race. It is noteworthy that Bernie Sanders did not endorse nor did he congratulate Ms. Chevalier. I hope you let @therickwilson.bsky.social discuss her candidacy on Monday.
Apparently “duress” includes Congress exercising their Article One power to override a presidential veto. 😳
As an old white guy, I love Juneteenth and Pride Month because they were steps toward that “more perfect Union” and because remembering a false history is treacherous indeed.
He might not be an ally against fascism and her certainly isn’t the ally we need. You know who has been an active ally to the fascists?
Great conversation, as usual, but @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social missed the biggest objection to Trump’s arch. It looks like it could have been designed by Albert Speer.
I know it is a profoundly difficult read but this book changed my thinking about religion in general and Christianity in particular.
Fantastic turnout for Sen. McMorrow at the Short’s Pull Barn. The Senator flipped a red seat blue in 2018, she has the legislative skills to get things done, and she has a real plan to deal with our most pressing issues. @mallorymcmorrow.bsky.social
When the the anniversary party is held, the offending spouse has decided that they were in fact the victim, that therapy was a mistake, and that they’re no longer going to listen to all this nagging about their past. @timmiller.bsky.social @esglaude.bsky.social
These guys blithely labeling someone a heretic is chilling. That label led to some of Christianity’s darkest days. They need to take a lesson from Snoopy.
Apparently she is unfamiliar with the parable of Charlie Brown and the football 🏈.
Trumpism has convinced me of at least these 3 things. 1. Separation of powers/checks and balances are essential. 2. I was too quick to dismiss the virtues of federalism. 3. Madison was spot on in this assessment.
A non binding resolution was voted on in 2024. Of course it is up to them.
This has always been true. See this excerpt from the liner notes to National Lampoon’s “That’s Not Funny, That’s Sick”.
