Our son is digging his new (for him) Kia Niro EV. In the month he’s owned it, they’ve been up to the lake region of New Hampshire and down to Cape Cod.
I’d guess there’s an opportunity for a forward-thinking Rhode Island bike shop.
The Boy, test driving a 2025 Hyundai Kona EV. I was surprised at how much back seat legroom this small car has.
I still can’t get over how cool it is to get over-the-air updates for my EV. Historically, cars were finished once they leave the factory. Now, EVs continue to get better over time.
Rhode Island keeps talking about its low unemployment rate. Maybe this is why.
Proof I’m getting old: I hopped on the buss downtown and went to the Providence Public Library without checking their hours. Oops.
Went to Teatro ECAS this evening for @localreturn.bsky.social’s Wealth in Rhode Island: Who, How, What, and So What? discussion. A very thought-provoking look at what wealth is and who is — and who isn’t — able to achieve it.
Sometimes I forget how small Providence is. Last night, I walked from Federal Hil, across the pedestrian bridge, then down to Point St and back.
Luongo Square today, a nearly perfect place on a pretty much perfect day. It’s one of a handful of places in PVD that I could see benefitting by going fully pedestrianized.
Feels like summer today, but spring is just starting to show in downtown Providence.
The charger is at our neighborhood association headquarters -- a refurbished gas station!
I was trying to take an epic photo of the moon rising over the Armory, but this Kia EV6 had other plans.
Hung a new mirror in the living room. I love it when different objects have similar lines and play off each other.
Love to see a new building going up in what used to be the single family house’s back yard.
I love my neighborhood. Out for a walk on this beautiful evening, I bump into James from Irregardless Biscuits and chat him up for 10 minutes. I also love biscuits.
Walked a bit of the East Bay Bike Path this afternoon, and saw one of the five trolls that have appeared in Rhode Island over the past year or so.
Feeling… apprehensive about these “building design standards” amendments passed by the @pvdcitycouncil.bsky.social last night. Particularly the rules around primary entrances and blank building facades.
Question for @d2lo.bsky.social & @zamafir.bsky.social and anyone else in the know: Anytime anything Hyundai is brought up in the electric vehicles subreddit, the comments are filled with people saying to avoid their ICCU issue. Is this a real issue, or is a case of the internet being the internet?
