Sharing this without comment, as commenting would be rather hypocritical of me. Also you have to sympathise with a man who can only last 21 seconds.

That would make the Carlton a significant advance on the FE Victor it replaced. Which has its charms, but silence is not a strength, thanks to the Haybaler engine, a 4-speed box (in the case of mine) and the aerodynamic efficiency of a mid-size Gothic cathedral.

I keep getting cheery notifications from YouTube telling me that someone thinks I’m too stupid, poor, ugly, posh, old, lazy, boring, inauthentic, left-wing or generally charmless. This latest is by no means the worst, but it’s the last of many straws. 1/3

I confess I had this vanity plate once, as a sort of satire on the BNZ 7923 plates that were on every tired Merc at the time. I think I paid the DVLA £250 for it. Some Skodas are a bit less uncool now, so the irony has evaporated somewhat. It might be worth as much as £300, I suppose. Or not.

Mine is supposed to be that colour too. As it is, it’s been roller painted with a 1960s ‘gloss’ blue that’s actually flatter than the proverbial pancake. Hopefully at some point I’ll respray it back to how it should be.

Very true, this. It doesn’t help that YouTube claims to pass 55% of ad revenue to creators, but actually it’s only 30% — certainly in my case, see photo. (YT support ignores all questioning of this.)

My expensive new Dremel just died, under minimal load. I guess we can add Dremel to the list of ‘premium’ brands that are now Lidl-grade Chinese sh_t.

My week started hesitantly and I wasn’t sure it would go anywhere, but once it got moving it was fun. If I put enough work in and push hard it could turn out to be quite rewarding by 1970s standards. Finished with a big garage bill though.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is an absolute joy, I’d love to go back there one day. I wouldn’t mind a Cadillac CTS again, either.
