Oomfs were discussing which things they've seen Justice Smith in and - fun fact! He and Eric Bogosian were both in The Get Down. I can't remember if they actually shared any scenes, but it was a great watch and they put Eric in a very slutty little robe (that he wore over very tiny briefs).

Mosquitoes aside, I had a lovely evening out with my mister after he got back from dropping Luce Jr. off at my parents' for her annual sleepover. She'll be back on Tuesday and I'm pretending I don't miss her already.

Photo that shows how close to the road we were sitting - a glass screen and a one foot thick hedge were all that separated us from the road. Definitely had a lizard brained moment of panic at seeing a van coming right at me.

A tall glass with a super bright green drink in it topped witg a pink flower. It was homemade melon and basil lemonade. In the background you can see my husband's homemade iced tea, as well as part of his arm and stomach.

A bamboo tray holding a little black pan filled with beef stew and some rice topped with a slice of chili, and a plate holding a steam basket with three dumplings, a tiny bowl of dipping sauce and some salad. They dumped a shitload of chopped cilantro stalks onto my stew, boo hiss, but once I picked those off it was delicious.

My dessert: a spin on a classic 'dame blanche'. A disc of vanilla ice cream topped with a thin layer of chocolate jelly. There's also chocolate sauce, powdered sugar and two pieces of decorative chocolate.

Further back is my husband's dessert: two macarons filled with mango ice cream, whippd cream topped with mango sauce, and some red berries.
