Sorry!😔. Bit of a rant there! However, we need keep an 👀 out that factionalism doesn't get out of control. I've been reading Paul Holden's book The Fraud and we need to listen 👂 more, think 🤔 more about what we've heard and rant a bit less! Climate apocalypse is already here!
The idea that your point of view oppresses someone is divisive. It IS oppression if used to bully someone into silence. We aren't allowed to sit round and discuss anymore. The exstremes want us to take sides. It seems the quiet life isn't an option🤬 www.theguardian.com/books/2026/j...
Now what's going on here? Are Greens with a genuine issue being hijacked ? Don't know what to make of the reply I unearthed because the person who posted it doesn't appear to post anything of their own.... 1st screenshot is a reply on the 2nd.
I often have a problem with @yougov.co.uk questions. With this one it's 🇮🇱 who doesn't want peace and is manipulating the situation. You don't get that as a choice though. Polls aren't very nuanced!
Proof - personal signed copy that is. Still feeling chuffed that someone I know has a book published. Such a lot of hard work but from the sounds of things sales are good 👍 Whoever is promoting @georgeosborn.bsky.social book is doing an excellent job.
🤔This could be a good fit for @georgeosborn.bsky.social to discuss his book. @peteryork.bsky.social was @bylinetimes.bsky.social fest last year where I occasionally provided assistance as a volunteer. 🙂Nice bloke, impeccable manners 🙂 m.youtube.com/@PeterYorkCu...
@nhsmillion.bsky.social "But a misfortune, the cost of which should be shared by the community.” I would say that an illness if not cured is a brake on family & community. The family & individuals have to make choices & sacrifices. If a lynch pin of the community dies but could have been cured..
Books 📚 two by journalists one by an academic. Something is attempting to drown one side. It's the bullies we need to worry about. It doesn't matter which vehicle they pick they are doing the most harm. We need to separate the bullies from the critics else free speech dies & we get nowhere!
My guerrilla mag repositioning of @bylinetimes.bsky.social is working a bit too well in my local Waitrose 🙂 Having usurped The Spectators slot its pursued other mags to join it😉
Someone.... Had hidden the front of this in Waitrose Hitchin by turning the 1st one round so the back cover was showing. 🤔So I moved the whole lot to the front of the rack because there was a space so everyone can see 🙂
I wish the Banksy Statue was called "identity" because the more we identify with a particular group the less we are inclined to "know one another in the things which are eternal" Quaker A&Q no 18
I've got to the part where this book examined the record of Keir Starmer as head of CPS. Knowing @greenjennyjones.bsky.social and her concern about the Spy Cops scandal its even more worrying. I'm not sure he ever has alarm bells ringing to alert him when something doesn't seem right.
Greens 4 Palestine over on Twitter(x) have the same sense of timing & public mood as Keir Starmer 🙄 Considering the following is about to turn the public mood AND it's going to make #Mackerfield a lot more interesting if picked up!🧵
Not marching... Helping out at a community allotment. Got some rhubarb and some wild garlic plants which we hope 🤞will like living in #Hitchin Quaker Meeting house peace Garden
We are fairly sure Labour did this because they, like ourselves saw the latest poll drop & it worried them. We had already taken action about anti-semitism.
There's a certain 🇺🇸 photo meme I'm getting a bit sick and tired of seeing so I might take to replying with
While out delivering leaflets for @nhertsstevenagegp.bsky.social in the Archer Rd area of #stevenage it was 😢 to see this little area so neglected. The light was too low for me to take a reasonable photo so here's a screenshot from Google maps.
🤔I keep seeing these on my Facebook... Interesting that they have a red rose, it's election time and the red rose is a Labour party symbol. I wonder what @pecksniffsdiary.bsky.social would make of that! What does this polling org. want to know? convergent-opinion.com
Dear @yougov.co.uk I think we are doing this CCTV thing all wrong! I've heard of incidents where monitors can't do anything other than watch actual bodily harm going on because no one is available to help. Much more of that and people are going to resent it being used during demos!
🤔so many half truths out there about slavery and the UK's part in it. I found the most helpful book was mainly about it's part in the world history of trade and economics Silk Roads by @peterfrankopan.bsky.social
Spent today helping to deliver some of this lot around Royston
My OH, David (DP) volunteers at our local food rescue. He takes the worst most yucky bits to a local community garden where he is in charge of composting.🙂 This week Tesco over ordered. I have ALL this going free & one of our neighbours baked us a cake in gratitude 😋
Just looking up progress on a local water leak 🤔 This leaves me wondering how much water is running away each day. This has been going on for a few days...
This article is testament to one Quakers commitment to international peace. There were failures which were learnt from. It is a lifetimes work that we are rapidly destroying
That's 3 votes of no confidence in the chair, two of which were from the same person.... Being chair at a political conference is perhaps off the difficulty scale for that type of job. Things are already heated, frustration means people are forgetting how to behave.
Out in Royston delivering these around the echo hill area today. Goldilocks temperature for leaflet delivering. Lots of lovely spring flowers 🙂
