A new OrcaSlicer fork with innovative solutions for printing in colors. It uses overhangs to hide a previous color and require a single tool change per layer, reducing time and waste. GitHub: github.com/sentientstar... YGK3D explain in detail how it works : www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5cv...
I was reflecting on 3D printer motion algorithms and I remembered this image. Klipper uses trapezoidal, RRF & Marlin can do S-Curve and the new Prunt firmware can be even smoother! With input shaping we are prioritizing the wrong dev! ➡️ Read more on my blog: ekunn.com/blog/2026/05... #3dprinting

preFlight is a new open source slicer based on #PrusaSlicer but with deep rework of its internals. - Truely 64bit - GCode processing in memory - Athena algo improving over Arachne - Interlocking perimeters similar to brick layers - Deeper #RRF integration ➡️ github.com/oozebot/preF... #3dprinting

And Prusa continues, so disrespectful 🤮. Flagged by so many people for their wrongdoing, yet they persist in trying to redefine open source for marketing purposes. Champions of open-source-washing! ➡️ The OCL isn't an open source license #3dprinting #opensource #prusa #disrespectful
Thank you so much for all your comments, likes, talks and support ❤️ I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. 💫🎉🎁
This is the internal design of the future E3D high speed nozzles, called the FUGE! Unlike the CHT ones, there is no more channelling. Instead, the filament core is warmed up by altering its path while maintaining the same surface area throughout. This is an application of the E3D patent from 2020.
DasFilament announced a recycled PETG filament made from waste of Film production. This rPETG has the same properties of their standard PETG and is specifically designed to have unique colour changes. Available in spools and refill. ➡️ www.dasfilament.de/filament-ref... #3dprinting #dasfilament
The resin 3D printing industry now benefits from a new and advanced open source UI called Orion. Developed by @openresin.org, it's currently running as a beta testing on the Athena II printer from Concept3D Systems Inc. ➡️ github.com/Open-Resin-A... #opensource

A great post from pt of @adafruit.com following a recent article in which Jo Prusa once again claimed that open source hardware in 3D printing is dead. Thank you @ptorrone.bsky.social ♥️ ➡️ xcancel.com/ptorrone/sta... #prusa #prusa3d #oshw #opensource #opensourcehardware

The water has not passed over yet. Still hard to predict what will happen. Image source: lematin.ch
New release of Klipper (version 0.13.0) : - New resonance testing for input shaping - New adaptive bed mesh leveling - Add new sensors (eddy current, load cell, accelerometer, hall, temperature) - Now support RP2350 microcontroller And many more here : www.klipper3d.org/Releases.html
This is how I understand it: - blue: their new "servo" motor - yellow: the helical gear meshing with the "servo" motor gear. This is to drive the hobb gear - red: the mechanism that put one of the filament in contact with the hobb gear. Each idler/tensioner is moving the filament passing through
This? I thought about a DC motor too but to me it makes more sense if it's an optical encoder. But I can absolutely be wrong.
Here is an image of a rumoured Bambu Lab 3D printer. What we can see: - Single print head with dual hotends (similar to UltiMaker) - 350x320x325 build volume - AMS with temperature & humidity control - Swappable laser module - Tinted window on the right side Source: www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/c...
The SmartPrintCoreH7x is a new open source mainboard for 3D printing by Boltz R&D. - Support Klipper and Marlin - Robust components and connectors - 5+1 steppers (expandable) - Close loop capability - Loads of IO - 5V 10A for SBC - 5V + 12V 5A for fans ➡️ github.com/BoltzRnD/Sma... ➡️ boltzrnd.com
The Jubilee is an open source 3D printer toolchanger that deserves to be better known. The extruder's locking system is on the frame to save weight. The design is well thought, it uses quality hardware and the doc is impressive. ➡️ www.jubilee3d.com/index.php ➡️ github.com/machineagenc...
It's beautiful to see the @positron3d.com 3.2, an open source 3D printer, and LDO Motors, a company supporting many open source projects, being nominated. Congrats and good luck 💫🎉 ➡️ 3dprintingindustry.com/news/3d-prin...
