Artist, wife; in the prime of my strife. (Avi & banner are my art) Food pixs are my cooking. #Grendellilycooks The 🍊🐀bastard/wannabe king/rapist/traitor & his complicit GOPers need to be indicted and imprisoned…like now! 🚫DMs (except friends)
Heat wave nosh. Gravlax (cured, no cook salmon…which takes 5 days, but no heat involved!) shrimp, some crab meat, roasted peppers, dolmatas, and assorted cold veggies. Good bread and well chilled wine. Done,
Crackly-skin roasted, bone/in chicken thighs that crunch u def your teeth, chicken gravy, medley of rice w/celery & onions, sautéed red Swiss chard. Good bread and good Chardonnay was involved. A big Oh yum was involved as well. #Grendellilycooks
Still catching up; a little nosh. Any questions? You know where to hit me up. #Grendellilycooks ….and is still cooking😄
Thank goodness l have my own homegrown herbs cuz I don’t trust grocery produce right now. Freshest basil with the usual for a lovely Caprese salad with nice slabs of locally made mozzarella.
Catching up with good eats; a few wings, ribs, veg medley and sautéd green beans… plus good cheesy bread. A quite lovely rich rosé and I think we hit all the right notes. 😊 # Grendellilycooks
Mussels in a spicy coconut broth. Eating our way through the seafood population. Sorry wee critters.
This was a luscious noodle bowl. I’ve learned some tricks! Simmered all veggies individually in the broth, then arranged them separately in bowl on top of noodles. Poured hot broth on top. Topped with potstickers, a soft boiled egg & any extra garnish. Holy moly, so good. Wine was involved 😁
A big plate of great chopped thighs chicken nachos with melted Gouda cheese, salsa, onions, black olives, red peppers, avocado, scallions and micro greens. We put dollops of Greek yogurt on our plates to give tang and creamy taste. Fun dinner to scarf up while watching a movie on tv.
I enjoy making stir frys; the selecting & cutting of all the veggies and protein (chicken thighs here coated in seasoned corn starch), sautéing them in order of their need of cook time, then experimenting with a sauce. Sweet & sour soy with a splash of OJ today. All on a bed of sticky rice.
Nothing like a big juicy hoagie on a hot summer day; roasted pork loin, good ham, provolone and gouda cheese, sweet banana peppers, lightly pickled cucumber, tomato, romaine and micro greens on a great roll! Oil, vinegar, mayo and mustard with wine to wash it all down!
I know you must be tired of my chicken leg dinners but we’re being conservative in our food purchases until the ridiculous tariffs are lifted. Chicken is so gloriously versatile and we love it! BBQ sauced with steamed veggies, arugula salad and a modest Chardonnay. Lovely simple meal
Vegetarian tonight; lemon pappardelle pasta with fresh tomatoes, zucchini, onions, garlic, squash, arugula, mushrooms and a fist full of fresh herbs. Slices of baked eggplant with tomato sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan topped it off. Frosty Chardonnay to wash it down.
Look what my hubby made me before “The Big Game.” He makes a great Bloody Mary and Margarita. Showing a close up of the garnish; tomato, celery, mortadella, olives. It was like a lunch in a glass! Oh. I won.
Another heat wave meal. Quickly seared tuna served cold with nachos, salsa and lime crema and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar reduction. Quick and simple but very satisfying. It’s great living in a wonderful fishing spot
Was planning a low-heat meal for the 4th until fishing neighbor came over with 2 of these big babies; 5-6 lb tile fish. Froze one. Did a low temp roast on 2nd, microwaved tri-color baby potatoes, which were quickly sautéed in butter& fresh herbs. Steamed green beans, homemade tartar sauce. So good!
Another heatwave dinner; previously cooked chicken thighs made into a wonderful chicken salad with grapes, nuts, celery and onion with a mayo/horseradish dressing. Asiago bread, Gruyere cheese and good wine!
Hot weather meal; the second salmon filet roasted the other night is now a cold salad with Asiago cheese bread and veggies. Yum.
Roasted salmon filet with pickled ginger and mustard glaze with brown rice & sautéed squash.
I love a good stirfry. Once you cut the veggies into the appropriate size and know which go into the wok first, you’re good to go. Pork loin chunks, carrot, squash, onions, green beans, red cabbage, scallion and brown rice with a wonderful orange and spicy savory sauce,
Self explanatory dinner last night. Homemade veggie and leftover chicken pizza!
Whole wings broiled with a sweet and spicy glaze (honey, molasses, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil and seeds, gochujang, butter and chilies) served over noodles dressed in same glaze. Baby bok choy on the side. Good stuff.
Giant portobello caps stuffed with fresh fish mixture (blue and drum) seasoned like a crab cake, baked then topped with a single shrimp. Hubs flipped out loving this. He’s a huge fish anything fancy. Also, first Southern fresh corn of the season.
Did someone on here post this? It’s in my photo file and I want to do a drawing of it. I’m curious if someone here took this shot as I don’t remember where I saw and saved it from. It’s beautiful. Love the textures.
A lovely juicy Black Angus NY strip steak with smashed baby red potatoes, onion/mushroom sauté, green beans and peas. Found a sale on the steaks (unbelievable, right?) and snatched up several to freeze. You’ll be seeing more steak shots😏
Blue crab season! The first we’ve had this year, with Cole slaw and zucchini cakes … and wine. Hello summer
Lovely little chicken pot stickers with scallions and micro greens plus a great soy sauce with sesame, orange juice and garlic dipping sauce. Side of quinoa, coucous mix with mushrooms and peas . Yummy!
Steamed Dungeness crab legs. Had them wild and fresh on the west coast and, even though these were good (frozen,) not sure they were worth the price. They paled by comparison to their fresh caught brethren. But then, everything does.😏
