Well we all know why…

Sitting on a stage in front of a red curtain with a spotlight circle on them, we see a sour faced but smirking Vladimir Putin wearing a blue suit jacket, white shirt, with a black bowtie, and dark grey trousers.

On one knee he is holding a ventriloquist's dummy which just happens to look exactly like Tucker Carlson, wearing a plaid yellow suit jacket, white shirt, with red bowtie, and a very large pin badge with the text "HOWDY TUCKER" on it.

A speech bubble from the Tucker dummy says:

Yep, it definitely is. I ran the full size image (embedded in the page source) through OpenAI's image verification page (openai.com/research/ver...) which confirms that it was generated with their "tools"…

I highly recommend Jodi Taylor's "The Chronicles of St. Mary's" series (14 full length novels & 18 shorts), and its spin-off "The Time Police" (6 novels). Time-travel, historical events, a fair bit of romance but in a good way, lots of humour, action, adventure. Fits the bill perfectly.

Yep. I ran both images through OpenAI's verification tool at openai.com/research/ver... which the "original/untouched" one passes as not altered by them, while the clearly iffy one with the Sainsbury's logo doesn't, as it has an embedded OpenAI SynthID:
