My blog about ttrpg layout My free Malazan hack for Grimwild & Pirate Borg adventure
Really loved and played a ton of both regular M&M and HoMM. ALSO Might and Magic: Class of Heroes is one of the best games on the DS and extremely fun!
A novel is full. Even when it demands interpretation, it is full and entirely contained. There is obviously a level to which ttrpg books can capture the human condition, but the full exploration robs the players of the game.
TTRPGs, to my taste, work best entirely focusing on the latter. They exist to be added to. This can be directed, as so many narrative games I enjoy focus on directed play & outcome, but there must be a lot of freedom as well. The table must do the talking for the act of roleplaying to be meaningful
To put my feelings another way, I feel the blend you're talking about here is less than the sum of its parts. They fight against each other. The mediums are too different. A traditional novel is contained. There's discussion and analysis, interpretation, but it is not meant to be added to.
Gotta glue him, coat him entirely in bondo, sand him for a week, and paint him several cute shades of pink
All pages for the Mage here, to show off the new Warren casting. Grimwild has an incredibly free-form magic system that uses touchstones, and the warrens are a great fit! TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF DEMON SUMMONING! Make your own weird little guy, and then level up and make an even weirder little guy!
The first page for the Marine! The Marine, Heavy, and Priest all have unique talents to play as a Mortal Sword, Shield Anvil, and Destriant!
Here's a look at the first page for the Sapper! Really excited about this one! I think it'll be incredibly fun to narrate how you've built a 15 metre long bridge overnight and hid it under the darkness, and then throw a cusser at a dragon! There's still another full page of talents!
Every fantasy ttrpg needs a class with a shovel and a bunch of bombs. No lame magic artificer stuff. A SHOVEL AND SOME BOMBS. CONSTRUCT A BRIDGE My Malazan hack of Grimwild nearly has all the classes completed. also, it turns out Sapper is a real title en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sapper
uh the pizza place I ordered from is PAST THE TICKET GATE in the ferry terminal, and I don't have a ticket. A minimum wage worker has to walk 200 metres through and out the terminal to give me the pizza. what the fuck is this island
details Feel like I got the different metal textures and the wear to a pretty damn good place on this one
Buster Sword complete! Felt silly carrying that black pillar through the woods, but when you get four hours of sun a week you don't have time to worry about tables!
OH NO WHAT DO I DO THE OFFICIAL DRAGON BALL Z FREIZA CROCS ARE 50% OFF TODAY ONLY
The jam has links to the full rules of Moxie, an even more lightweight version of Moxie created by fans (Mini-Moxie), and multiple different Canva templates in the style of Grimwild for ease-of-use! The discord is active and full of people very passionate about the system!
Post you from a different era 🫶🏼 These photos turned 10 years old in August I no longer serve as hard unfortunately
Working on just one of these at a time is wild. I do 2 minutes of work and then have to sit for 2+ hours for various things to dry. Buster Sword from FFVII Remake is coming along nicely though. Almost ready for final paint job (this picture was many stages of the process ago).
Rivers of Blood from Elden Ring It's very nearly 6 feet long, and was almost too big to fit into the light I had in my yard there.
This is the coolest thing I've 3d printed and it's NOT CLOSE Dark Souls 2 is a good game
