Day 2 of Colorado Ride -- easy day at 42 miles, but a kicker hill with 14% grade
I've got a quibble with Cottonwood "Pass". A pass is a low point between mountains that it makes sense to put a road thru. See any low point here...
I think I finally understand why some cyclists focus on VAM -- vertical ascent speed. The first graph is a profile (elevation:distance) of my ride. The second is my elevation:time. I'm at an almost constant ascent speed (straight line) on the major climb, no matter what the slope.
Visiting Seattle and rented an MTB in Issaquah for some trail riding. Highly recommended
Here's what a stem adapter looks like. It clamps onto the top of your fork and the allows you to position your bars higher by rotating it up.
Biking is great in central Texas in Fall, Winter, and Spring. But when Summer shows up the "Weather Insight" gets passive aggressive*... *BTW, in C the heat index is 42-45
But not the ideal wind speeds for biking. Mostly 25-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
Further upstream at Wolfsklamm. The sound is so loud you almost need to shout.
