The post grad graduation ceremony of my wonderful daughter Rachel Hacking today at Bridgewater Hall I couldn't be more proud of this brilliant nurse , striving every day to be able to better serve our young people and families. A credit to her family and a massive credit to the NHS. ❤️

Went to see Elvis Costello tonight. First 15 minutes were mediocre renditions of 3 or 4 classics. Next 90 mins were self indulgent country rock nurdling and muso bollox. Last 20 mins were class versions of classics. Bit shit, especially for £107. But would probably go again! 🙄

Today, I volunteered as a steward at the Chorlton Fun Run as I've done every year since it began. A great local event with a record number of runners. Hundreds of kids running alongside hundreds of adults was lovely to see. I was joined by my councillor colleagues Tina & Mathew.

The Renters' Right Act from the Labour government comes into force today.🌹 This will be a transformational change for the many many private rented households in the Chorlton. Glad Manchester Labour are in the side of those who rent in Manchester 🌹

A really positive door knocking session in glorious sunshine this morning. We spoke to lots of residents in the Manchester Rd area. We are the only party knocking on doors and speaking with residents. Something we do all year round. Not just at election time.

I am out all year round talking to residents. It’s an important part of my role as a councillor and I know residents value this engagement. I am usually joined by my brilliant Chorlton Labour colleagues. We are the only party to do this. 🌹
Today is Earth Day. It serves as a moment for collective action, a chance for individuals, communities, and governments to come together and recommit to protecting the natural world. The theme for 2026 is "Our Power, Our Planet."
