bizarre freak video games about life for loser nerds working on new games (misdecayed, polymorphite, spherene). previous projects: vivid/stasis
(There was really no reason to make the board game map so large, but I thought of the idea of basing it off of the Tokyo rail map and committed way too hard... attached is a screenshot of the full map from the proprietary editor I built to make designing it easier)
Once an Aspect has been developed, it can be equipped to one of a character's five Aspect slots. Characters don't level up traditionally in polymoprhite; it's up to you to mess around with Aspects to build your characters how you want to!
Each space you stop on will have either a benefit or adverse effect on the Aspect being developed. Benefits can be raising stats, increasing overall level, and more, but adverse effects may lower your stats or force you to draw a card with a modifier that hinders your strategy.
You start with 5 cards and 25 turns, and every time you play a card, you take a turn, and one card is drawn. However, a lot of options exist to manipulate these mechanics, like cards that don't consume turns, or draw more cards. Hand manipulation is key to ensuring a strong Aspect is developed!
Transit Mode takes place on a board game-like map based on the layout of Tokyo's rail network. Across a set amount of turns, you'll play cards from your hand that move you various spaces, and provide other effects like drawing extra cards, exchanging your hand for a new one, and more!
While progressing through polymorphite's story, you will unlock "Cores", named after various gemstones. Cores come with a base set of statistics, but you can't do much with Cores on their own; you have to develop them into Aspects through Transit Mode!
polymorphite has reached 2,000 wishlists, so I can finally introduce to everyone a major mechanic of the game's progression; Transit Mode! 🧵
We're very close to hitting our next wishlist goal of 2,000, and if we do, you'll get to see more about some of the other systems in this game, like the board game mode that you use to build characters to stand up against different songs and enemies!
This is polymorphite; a new rhythm-dodging mystery experience from the team that brought you vivid/stasis. Use your mouse and keyboard to dodge hazards, collect chips, and collect data notes to deplete the enemy's health. Wishlist the game: store.steampowered.com/app/4432100/...
200 more wishlists until I tell you how the system you'll spend hundreds of hours minmaxxing in works
300 more wishlists until you can see the funny tiles and numbers in polymorphite store.steampowered.com/app/4432100/...
vivid/stasis was the rhythm game for puzzle freaks. polymorphite is the* rhythm game for number freaks *there are other rhythm games like this too
every friend group has the oomf that blasts numbers out of their chest when they stub their toe #polymorphite #toestub
Remember to wishlist polymorphite if you haven't already! If the game reaches 2,000 wishlists, I'll show off more of the insane progression system this game has
vivid/stasis ENCORE DISC can now be downloaded for free from our website! Additionally, PAST DISC and FUTURE DISC have been moved from the old Bandcamp download to our website. www.hajimeli.net/soundtrack/v...
With Misdecayed's second demo finally released, the team can finally return to work on new content for the game! We're planning to launch the game in Early Access next year, in 2027!
polymorphite's updated title screen. The character and background color will be picked randomly from your unlocked characters each time you go to the title screen! (The music used is not final; it's an original song from elsewhere in the game.)
Hajimeli invites you to the vivid/stasis - 1st "End of Early Access" Anniversary livestream on July 5th, 2026. We'll be listening through the new vivid/stasis ENCORE DISC soundtrack, followed by Q&A's with various team members, and general developer hangout after! See you then! ^-^
polymorphite has received 1,000 wishlists! As a reward, here is a preview of "kuiper wandering" by Foodbot; a new original track for the game. Let this airy electronic track carry you through the universe. At 2,000 wishlists, we'll share more information about game systems, like Aspects!
The soundtrack to an echoed regret... The soundtrack to a present determination... And now, the soundtrack to what comes after. "vivid/stasis Original Soundtrack - ENCORE DISC" comes out July 5th (1 year after the end of Early Access), with 30 tracks.
In Misdecayed Demo v2, losing in battle now presents you with the option to retry a battle from the start to avoid losing progress, and even temporarily reduce the difficulty of the enemies, which only applies to this battle! You can also load your save file, just like before.
New in Misdecayed Demo v2.0: Unity Energy! The new usage for Energy Points (EP), Unity Energy are powerful combination moves that borrow the power of multiple party members to unleash powerful effects.
Well, you guys are insane and already got polymorphite to 630 wishlists, so as promised, here's a preview of one of the new original songs that will be playable in the demo! On top of being a trance-techno banger by log(), this also serves as the tutorial music for the game.
I was out for a ride and Softy surprised me with this so you guys get to see it too! Happy pride month from your favorite (or least favorite) queer game studio!
