We were honored to celebrate Saar earlier this year at the Hammer's Gala in the Garden, where she captivated audiences with her warmth and wisdom.

One of the most influential artists of the last century, Saar spent more than seven decades creating work that explored African American identity, spirituality, and history.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Betye Saar, just shy of her 100th birthday.

At MOCA, Blondet has organized Olafur Eliasson: OPEN (2024), MOCA Focus: Ana Segovia (2024), and Fictions of Display (2025), with upcoming exhibitions including Alexander Apóstol, Regime: Dramatis Personae, opening in September 2026.

Previously, Wellen was Senior Curator of International Art at Tate Modern where organized numerous exhibitions, including their major exhibition of works by Ana Mendieta which opened this month.

This Earth Day, we’re highlighting artists whose work begins in communities of the Amazon. 🌿 Artists Nereyda López, Santiago Yahuarcani, and Sheroanawe Hakihiiwe work with materials from the Amazon—connecting land, memory, and myth. Their work carries ancestral knowledge rooted in nature.
