The message was consistent and clear: the solutions already exist, and they're being built by the Indigenous Peoples and local communities who've sustained ecosystems for generations through agroecology, community-led solutions, and traditional knowledge.

At the UN #SB64 negotiations in Bonn, civil society groups and climate campaigners from the Global South stood together to say what frontline communities have been saying for years: geoengineering is a false solution and a dangerous distraction that allows business as usual to continue.

Gina Cortes Valderrama, Women and Gender Constituency added, “Geoengineering is a political choice that sends the message to the people that it is preferable to risk unprecedented harm to planetary systems than to confront the fossil fuel economy and the corporate power that sustains it".
