I am sat on my bed, with my laptop, writing. And, for the first time since the puppy arrived, with two settled, sleeping dogs. I am truly living the dream! You hope for the moment when they start to let their guard down with each other , and it’s happening.

When you write a book, and the dogs in it get called the best dogs in fantasy… Then you get a new puppy, who has a parent dog of the breed which inspired Moonhounds… You have to name the puppy after the most loved dog in the series, right? Meet Staramine. Twice…

Having spent the morning trying to ( mostly successfully) convince the dog that brushes are less evil than fur knots… My next job will be removing more gravel from the garden for the next flower bed. I need more dog-safe plant ideas… the world is explored via her mouth! #dog #plant #gardening

Hey… it’s Valentine’s Day. And I write non romantic fantasy. But I had a good think about how many tropes I could technically still apply! Happy valentines 😂

I do a lot of shouting about Gates because it’s in SPFBOX, and not enough about the other series’. Anyway, for no particular reason… Here’s me at Glasgow 2024 releasing Unfamiliared, which is a cosy escape of a novella. It’s full of witches and animals a magical sports day, and missing magic.
