In the think tank and nonprofit world, there's a lot of talk about "mainstreaming' white nationalist rhetoric without fully elaborating on how it happened. A lot of it, as this piece does a good job of showing, comes down to how the younger generation—particular men—have moved the Overton window.

None of the conservative activists I spoke with endorsed Fuentes unequivocally, and a couple condemned him, distancing themselves from the “groyper” label that his white-nationalist followers embrace. A member of the College Republicans at a private Ohio university estimated that only a minority of his group’s membership considered themselves fans of Fuentes, and most rejected the streamer’s blatant anti-Semitism. But he also conceded that about three-quarters of them “broadly sympathize” with Fuentes’s views. Skepticism of Israel, he told me, is the “dominant narrative” among his peers.
The Turning Point president from the southeastern university, however, has observed something much warmer, and more worrisome, than broad sympathy: the belief that Fuentes is a more genuine representative than Trump of the America First vision, not in spite of his anti-Semitism but because of it. “Almost all of Gen Z hates the Jews,” he told me. In his Turning Point chapter, he said, “Fuentes is the guy.”

Hatewatch knocked at the door of the Green Lane address on the afternoon of Friday, June 10, finding it on a quiet residential block flanked by two neighboring houses promoting LGBTQ equality and racial justice causes with lawn signs. A young man with a pale complexion, light brown hair and a goatee answered. He said the Cucchiaras were not home and, after Hatewatch explained the nature of the inquiry, shut the door.
Hatewatch looped around the property by car and found two cars parked on the premises. One of the cars had a sticker associated with “Blue Lives Matter,” a countermovement to the racial justice Black Lives Matter movement, and another sticker advertising a white nationalist YouTube channel. Hatewatch encountered the young man again, now wearing a camouflage-patterned bucket hat. He expressed a familiarity with Southern Poverty Law Center’s work.

“I know who you are. I know who both of you guys are,” he said to the two Hatewatch reporters in the car. “We’ll see each other again one day.”
On the same day, Hatewatch drove to the property in Harleysville and found it empty, dilapidated and possibly in the nascent stages of renovation, based upon some tools and equipment visible through windows at the front and side of the house. Someone left behind a broken toilet, two broken newspaper delivery boxes, a crushed can of Four Loko hard seltzer, two empty cups of Wawa coffee and a half-filled bottle of Mountain Berry-flavored Powerade on the grassy, overgrown grounds outside of the house.

But there's one other thing that's interesting about this case. At the bottom of the DOJ press release, it's identified as a case tied to Trump's NSPM-7. This memorandum, released after Charlie Kirk's assassination, seeks to weed out "anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity."

This case is part of the nationwide National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 initiative, which is a White House directed, interagency effort to integrate federal, state, and local partners in protecting First Amendment rights while targeting individuals and organizations engaged in political violence and is led by the investigative and prosecutorial Joint Task Force Vanguard.

On Fash Front, Mullis, under the username "TerrorVox," allegedly promoted a small accelerationist cell called Southern Front. The group glorified neo-Nazis like James Mason, the author of "Siege." The propaganda Mullis allegedly placed at the religious center featured a swastika and a noose.

Here's more on Kevin DeAnna, a white nationalist propagandist whom Bovino had a friendly chat with after the "Remigration" summit. In writings, DeAnna described white people as an "army" and bemoaned we don't "hang traitors" and "revolt" the same way we used to. www.splcenter.org/resources/ha...

Writing as Hood, DeAnna cited “SIEGE,” a collection of neo-Nazi James Mason’s writings, on numerous occasions. In 2013, years before the text was popularized by the neo-Nazi forum Iron March, DeAnna cited “SIEGE” in a Counter-Currents essay about the need to destroy the Republican Party. DeAnna wrote that Mason was correct in stating that “white advocates must think of all white people everywhere as our army.” The original post, published on Counter-Currents’ website on Jan. 31, 2013, linked to a part of the site where one could buy Mason’s tract for $20, plus shipping and handling.
McHugh, who dated DeAnna from 2013 to 2016, and again briefly in 2017, told Hatewatch that DeAnna owned a copy of “SIEGE” prior to its popularization by the neo-Nazi forum Iron March.
“The bold, red lettering of ‘SIEGE’ on the book spine is unmistakable. It is a heavy book, and DeAnna told me not to read it,” she told Hatewatch.
Some of DeAnna’s writing, such as an April 2016 essay in Radix Journal titled “On LARPing,” combined references to both “The Turner Diaries” and “SIEGE.”
“Most of us don’t do anything. . . . We don’t take to the streets; we don’t hang the traitors from lampposts; we don’t revolt the same way any of our ancestors would,” DeAnna wrote.

The two teens also glorified Atomwaffen Division, a neo-Nazi group that disbanded in 2020 but has had multiple copycats crop up since then. During the attack, one wore a patch associated with the group. They worshipped Brandon Russell, AWD's co-founder, and James Mason.

There were parallels between a document the alleged shooters co-authored and a 2022 "Terrorgram" video called "White Terror." "White Terror" listed 105 neo-Nazi murderers and highlighted certain neo-Nazi killers as "disciples" of Brenton Tarrant. Vazquez and Clark wanted to be in this pantheon.

Vazquez, in a later section of their document, credited Tarrant with bringing “forth a new age of White Terror.” This framing, which depicts Tarrant as leading a new generation of racist killers, appears to be lifted from a documentary that “Terrorgram” produced and distributed in 2022. Titled White Terror, it glorifies over 100 acts of white supremacist terrorism, using graphic footage from many of the attacks.

White Terror, according to federal prosecutors, was created by Dallas Humber and Matthew Allison.[17] The pair were charged with soliciting hate crimes, soliciting the murder of federal officials and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists. Humber is serving 30 years in prison.[18] Allison’s case is ongoing, per court documents.

Many of the white supremacists that Vazquez and Clark cited in their document also appear in White Terror. These include Timothy McVeigh, the perpetrator of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing; Robert Jay Mathews, the founder of the neo-Nazi terrorist group The Order; Dylann Roof, the perpetrator of a 2015 mass murder at a Black church in South Carolina; and James Huberty, who murdered 21 people at a San Diego McDonald’s in the 1980s.[19]
