I was jealous that everyone else had a cute chaos book trope meme so I made one for my book.
Speaking of knitting, it still needs sleeves and pocket linings but I’m REALLY happy with how this sweater is (finally) coming together
Please share/respond/discuss! My goal is to spark conversation looking to the future: let's have a plan for concrete transformative change once we've addressed the immediate crisis. ⚓
One resource is a whitepaper I've put together on a 3-part framework for long-term activism: Abolishing ICE, Welcoming Migrants through revisions of immigration law, and Truth and Reconciliation work. (1/2)
Made a deconstructed Coquilles-St.-Jacques for Valentine’s Day with @thalesdisciple.bsky.social. Seared scallops over a cauliflower-mushroom gratin with Julia Child’s sauce parisienne
OK but this is too exciting to wait on sharing: my book! It has a cover! (Coming in November from Fortress Press, pre-orders will be available sooooooon)
I work my feelings out through architecture, so I’m getting through this month by designing a townhouse 🤣
We enjoyed a Southern-style Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, greens, squash casserole, Waldorf salad, my mother-in-law’s cranberry relish, pimiento cheese.
Finally figured out my Mamdani sign. I know, I know, I’m behind the times
My Halloween costume is “math.” With bonus Klein bottle earrings from @thalesdisciple.bsky.social!
Obligatory California heat wave comment (fwiw though we’re going to have winds and that makes fire risk go up, so it’s really not great)
Going slowly, but the yoke of the new cardigan is done (this is the Tin Can Knits Harvest again, but the goal is to put POCKETS on this one with chunky cables on them)
Update: the shape of the pumpkin sweater was much improved by blocking.
*on the fly. Anyway the project seems like it’s going to more or less fit
We went to the new gallery building at LACMA today. Gosh I love brutalism
