My bet is that it's from the people vacuuming up the algae with the big underwater brooms. Brushing the bottom of the pool caused sections to become weaker, allowing the hydrogen peroxide to do more damage. Also, it was applied poorly and in sections.

All things concerned, this is very important context. Yes the behavior is still bad, but it would’ve been much much worse if it was with campaign staff.

A current Platner campaign official said Mr. Platner had been communicating with up to six women. The conduct had stopped, the official said, before the campaign launched.

All that being said, we do know that skull symbology is embedded in even the American military. One person today linked me a thing they bought ON A US MILITARY BASE with the same symbol Platner had tattooed on him. What do I make of that? I’m not entirely sure to be honest.

I brought the same insignia on base in Hawaii during the US invasion of Iraq (see photo below). This was from the PX medal store on a USAF base.
