After three years feeding the wilds in the little glade, here’s a first. A badger and his magpie. A magpie and his special stone. A vignette.
Watched Hokum. I did enjoy it, and it was spooky. But it felt a bit rushed. Sort of partially executed concepts. Probably due to some brutal editing. 7/10
Veggie ragu with gf gnocchi. Pretty chuffed that it has home grown courgette, red onion, pak Choi and herbs.
Imagine being the sort of person who dumps a sweet baby angel pussy cat outside a stables in the middle of the night. We’re not sure how long she/he was there but the tiny carrier was covered in dew.
I have a great crop of kale to use and dozens of potatoes and onion. So Caldo Verde for dinner. The most authentic tasting I’ve made so far. Ruddy wonderful.
Sitting in the centre of shitty Newport for, I quote “I don’t know, could be an hour…could be three”.
The baby has very knowing eyes… like Moo had… both feral babies found on farms. 🥰
I took Lewis out very early this morning. It was lovely and cool (the fact that 21° is cool these days is insane). He’s so sweet and honest, and he listens - I hope we get to travel through time together forever.
I managed to sit still for a bit. Then made a broad bean hummus as the whole lot had to be harvested. And now portioning strawberries to blend and compote because there was a mountain of big boxes of strawberries at 50p going to landfill overnight if someone didn’t take them.
My kitten produces toxic weapons grade farts when she’s excited! I doubt I’ll need to mention it on Wednesday to the vet… I suspect she’ll get it full force in the nostrils.
My house is 28° at 22.15, which is 9° hotter than outside. WHYYYYY IS THERE NO RESPITE?!
I bought a high capacity charging unit two days ago to go with the low capacity chargers I keep for phones, cat fountain etc. And I bought a solar panel to recharge it if the powers out tomorrow too. Preppers unite!
Dear lord! It’s like being in Florida during Isaac but without the metal shutters on the wndows.
Checking in remotely on my lovely lad as the thunder rolls through… just eating his hay like good boy.
