Look at this Nasty Little Rabbit! This bunny looks friendly and fun but it is actually the mastermind behind a coordinated attack on Beorn's carrots, known in history books as the battle of five rabbits. It was very nasty business. (for MtG: the Hobbit, AD: Colin Boyer.)

MY FIRST MAGIC CARD HAS BEEN RELEASED A FEW DAYS AGO, WOOOOO! LOOK AT IT! Ahem. What I mean is: Last Light of Durin's Day, Magic the Gathering: the Hobbit, AD: Colin Boyer. I was fangirling a lot when working on that set (...and quite a few others), so I'm so happy I finally get to show my art!

And here it is, next to the first cover. I worked on both of those at the same time two years ago, which allowed us to plan the similarities and contrasts between the covers from the very beginning :) I'm very happy with how they look together.

I rediscovered colour pencils recently too! Using good quality ones (compared to the cheap pencils I used as a child) made a world of difference ^^ Here's some sketchbook stuff, a plein air drawing and anatomy studies from Hampton's book:

Also! I just love how when it's consistently cold, water sublimates from the snow and slowly forms these gorgeous, glittering crystals... so I painted some of that glitter too! This was my "Harkalé has fun with lights and textures" painting XD

I can finally show one of my favourite paintings from last year! This was a commission for @illumicrate.bsky.social which was printed on a blanket included in a recent Afterlight box. Auroras are my favourite natural phenomena and i'd love to see them some day, so i'm very glad I got to paint one!

Two other drawings done during that vacation! Garden flowers this time, in watercolour pencils and watercolours. I really need to practice that medium, I'm not used to planning ahead for light areas ^^

Since it's such a wide painting and has to work as a dust jacket, the composition is a bit wonky, but here's what the front cover looks like on its own! ...and obviously, the part I'm proudest of is that stained glass window in the background. That and her hair, too <3

Somehow I forgot to post this piece earlier! It was painted for the reverse dust jacket of an OwlCrate special edition of "Sleep Like Death" by Kalynn Bayron which was published a year ago or so... I'm happy with all the symbolism I could hint at here! also, the emerald-brown colour palette 🤎💚

I'm just back from a nice vacation with art friends during which, unsurprisingly, drawings were drawn. Here are some dead trees and branches! The models were super expressive but also kind enough to stand perfectly still for us, which was appreciated.

...but in the end that's the advantage of client work, at least you're not the one having to make the agonizing choice of which sketch you'll push to final :) Here's a close-up on her face, by the way!

Speaking on composition: these are the initial sketches I sent my client. I'd have gladly painted any of them, since they're all so pretty and tell beautiful stories...

Last WoW fanart and then I swear I'll stop posting them! (...for today) I almost forgot this one but it's my favourite. "Dinomancers! DINOMANCERS!!!" a 2019 portrait of my Darkspear druid who wishes she looked as cool as the Zandalari shapeshifters. Even if she's pretty badass already.

Recently I've been feeling pretty nostalgic of WoW... so I took a dive through my ooold (2015-2019) fanarts, I didn't even remember some of them, but there were a handful I still like. Like this portrait of Zappi Boi (Zekhan), the cutest of all trolls (and all trolls are cute) <3

Aaand we're ending this series on: 🌸pink🌸! "Just So You Know", cover for the story of the same title by Sarah Hogle. Working with this unusual ternary colour palette was a fun challenge :) And that's it, I hope you enjoyed this rainbow-coloured thread!

🔥 warm yellow 🔥 "Lava River", a personal piece (painted during a 2021 mentorship with the great @donatoarts.bsky.social ) that also was a big step up for me in terms of suggesting textures through semi-abstract brushwork! Also, a great place to take a bath for any and all Smeagols.
