I am all kinds of geekiness.
I was the nerdiest of nerds. Me in my homemade deerstalker hat playing a detective in the school play. (Because if I was a detective, then I was CLEARLY Sherlock Holmes.)
There used to be a brand of wine (it was actually called 'Pescevino', or similar) that came in a fish-shaped bottle, maybe this was for that? (Yes! found a picture.)
Been 17 years since my dad died. He was infuriating, but instilled a love of reading in me. He was a blowhard, but he taught me to stand up for myself and not back down. He was conservative, but encouraged me to read *everything*, and question *everything*. I have complicated feelings. #FathersDay
We went out for our fancy anniversary dinner, and I am now addicted to this dish: Short ribs, house made fat noodles, peas , crispy Brussels Sprouts, lemon, mint, & a bit of cheese.) I dang near made myself sick. :happy yummy noises:
38 years ago today, I married my amazing Manly Man. I would do it again in a New York minute; we are perfectly suited for one another. Happy Anniversary, sweetie!
Step one of learning a new hobby; draw crappy designs, carve terrible lines, print horribly inconsistently - Success! #NailedIt #CraftFail
So beautiful and dream-like, not a frame wasted, slowly becomes dread-inducing, plus eerie time-travel element. Mattie Do is a freaking genius of a director.
The first album that I bought with my own money was - no lie - Shel Silverstein's "Songs and Stories". Every place I look says it came out in '78, but I was in high school in '78. I bought this in Middle School (and then spent several years hoping like hell my mother wouldn't listen to it, lol.)
Half an hour 'til the doors of the club open for "Rockula!" Join #HorrorWatch for the most ridiculous horror-adjacent comedy you've ever seen - starring Dean Cameron, Toni Basil, and Thomas Dolby. Be there or be square!
Drop your favorite foreign language horror films: (from the past decade or so; there are too many to start at the beginning.)
That shot of her marked face, mouth open, reminds me strongly of the cover for Brain Salad Surgery. I wonder if Geiger was inspired by it? #HorrorWatch
Two. One nobody outside TN will have heard of (which is why there are two). A. "Nashville Babylon" by The White Animals B. "Chronic Town" by REM Goddam, my college years had some great music.
