I was the nerdiest of nerds. Me in my homemade deerstalker hat playing a detective in the school play. (Because if I was a detective, then I was CLEARLY Sherlock Holmes.)

A scene from the scintillating musical "Tracers of Lost Parts of Speech", with me in the pivotal role as the Detective, wearing a coat, tie, and a homemade deerstalker hat because if I was a detective, then CLEARLY I was meant to be Sherlock. I was in 6th grade, and the Queen of the Nerds for the entire county.

There used to be a brand of wine (it was actually called 'Pescevino', or similar) that came in a fish-shaped bottle, maybe this was for that? (Yes! found a picture.)

We went out for our fancy anniversary dinner, and I am now addicted to this dish: Short ribs, house made fat noodles, peas , crispy Brussels Sprouts, lemon, mint, & a bit of cheese.) I dang near made myself sick. :happy yummy noises:

Braised short ribs with house-made wide noodles, peas with lemon & mint, covered in crispy Brussels sprouts and lightly shredded cheese. Unbelievably good.

The first album that I bought with my own money was - no lie - Shel Silverstein's "Songs and Stories". Every place I look says it came out in '78, but I was in high school in '78. I bought this in Middle School (and then spent several years hoping like hell my mother wouldn't listen to it, lol.)

From a Simpson's Treehouse of Terror episode, cartoon Bob Dole getting pinched & lifted by a giant metal claw, whereupon he says "Bob Dole Doesn't Need This". (Originally airing right after Bob Dole talked about himself in the third person in public, this was one of the biggest laughs the Simpsons ever surprised out of me. I still giggle every time I see it.)
