Tomoe was doing the same just yesterday!

A sunlit window, with a striped orange-red chain l curtain drawn over it. Cast on the curtain by the light, the shadow outline of a certain kitten is visible, especially her big pointy ears.

The curtain has been drawn back, revealing Tomoe, tabby calico kitten, sprawled along the windowsill, basking in the sun. She looks super groggy and also a bit annoyed that I woke her up.

lrt sometimes I feel like we accidentally got a very large ferret instead of a cat, not gonna lie

Tomoe the tabby calico kitten, sound asleep on the back of a sofa. Her face is mostly orange with grey ears, a white throat, and a splodge of grey across her nose. On her body, her coat is a mix of more brindled areas and bigger chunks of orange and grey mackerel tabby stripes. She looks very cute and long and fluffy, especially her tail, ringed mostly with grey tabby rings with little flashes of flame orange.

Today is apparently world giraffe day so I would like to share my favourite giraffes, statues Martha and Gilbert, more properly called 'Dreaming Spires', by sculptor Helen Denerley. They are made of scrap metal, and got giant party hats in 2025 for their 20th birthday. Or install day I suppose

Tomoe is already your friend, she is friends with everyone and fears nothing and will come up to you for pets anytime. Ishtar will probably hide for 3-5 business days and then suddenly decide you're all right and sprawl on your lap.

God damn it, normally I'd say "damn this is really taking off I don't have a bandcamp but please check out my cat", but... well... j/k I don't have a bandcamp but I have another cat please check her out too her name is Ishtar and she is never going outside because she is scared of everything

Her back, paws, face and ears are a very deep brown, while the area around her chest and throat fade into a pale creamy colour. She looks very beautiful and also a bit like if you put your ear next to hers you could hear the wind blowing through.

anyway on the positive side i survived work and get to start an hour and a half later every day this week and also Tomoe is officially naked again and Shoulder Time occurred.

Tomoe's little pink nose EXTREMELY blown up and super blurry in the hopes of making you understand just how impossible cute it is that her nose has a tiny little spot of grey in the pink. She has a big splodge of grey on the her face and it just touches her nose. So a tiny little bit of the side of her nose is grey when the rest is pink. This is the most important fact I can impart upon you.

Seriously though I cannot overstate just how cosy and sleepy she is looking in this picture it's unbearable.

Does anyone else have nurse kitties? Our two are both exceedingly good at noticing when Jay or I are badly hit with fatigue. They'll both lay on us to make sure we'll get some actual rest. You know it's bad when BOTH of them do it at once.

A French shepherd with his multicoloured flock of Ouessant sheep, most of them white but a few of them fawn or brown. They are extremely tiny sheep that only come up to his knee because of how wooly they are. The sight is deeply incongruous, like this guy is just really *really* tall. But no. it's just the sheep that are extremely tiny.

Me 'n Tomoe just finished Gibson's Pattern Recognition which was just amazing. Not often you read a hypermodern thriller from 2003 that's still incredibly relevant in 2026. I always have like 6 books on the go but next is probably A Spindle Splintered by @alixeharrow.bsky.social
