not as supernatural as it said on the tin but it's gonna make you mad about women especially in South Korea (by which I mean how people treat women not like, Women) spy cams and bad humans
picked this up for a challenge where I needed the word 'empty' and got an eating disorder memoir so be warned (I'm ok but cw for whoever needs!)
@bearpigman.bsky.social friend I feel like next time we go I want to get it a partner but this one seemed good for a starter/multi-purpose
I don’t know if this is gonna be good or too close to home but I also know Kacey Akbar vehemently does his own blurbs unlike some other authors but like Oh no lol
a neat vignette style of how various people in this Asian-American community in New England deal with a false alarm missile alert - from the one who sent the alarm to a guy who drives off w/o his fam to a mom who sends a regretful text to her lesbian daughter 3000 miles away... I really liked it!

This map is like “Honolulu! Salt Lake City for potato bugs! Fresno for no drive-through liquor stores!” My dude it’s literally both northeast Maryland and a way of speaking heavily influenced by TV/people around me You got it right! In fact it’s darker there than SLC!
Book talk and signing tonight with @ceejthemoment.bsky.social (hosted by @sarahgailey.bsky.social on who I will see in Sacramento soon enough!) What a joy of a talk gosh
funky little sci-fi novella about ... gosh, colonialization and language I wish I knew just a little more what everybody looked like but I enjoyed this
one of the non-series books I was looking forward to most this early part of the year and it didn't disappoint What If a saint was just someone you could conjure up (maybe) but also like 2/3 at least was backstory and I enjoyed this a lot
