Magic: the Gathering, Software, Science, I'm so tired.
Sometimes youre at lobby con until 3am, sleep until 2pm and then have a grilled cheese and a beer for breakfast at 5pm. Anyways, MagicCon Amsterdam was great.
I won the Face 2 Face Tour modern qualifier in Langley BC! In my opinion this is the best configuration of Domain Zoo right now, if the deck is interesting to you. I picked it because I was expecting to play vs lots of aggressive decks such as Boros, Prowess, and Affinity and I was correct!
They shouldnt have banned it in the first place. Welcome back my beloved. I'm not sure you're playable but we're going to try.
It's June 2025; Izzet decks dominate standard. Mono red tries to keep them in check. It's May 2026; Seven blue and red cards have been banned in standard. Izzet decks dominate standard. Mono green tries to keep them in check.
No Life Forsaken by Steven Erikson I'm usually a huge enjoyer of Erikson's work but this book might be a miss for me. I love the concept of returning to Seven Cities a decade after the Whirlwind Rebellion was defeated by Tavore, but I felt underwhelmed by the novel itself. The book has elder gods..
So, i know we keep doing this, but these cards were supposed to be in the same standard? Come on.
Boy I'm so glad they banned the pushed mana producing mythic from a universes beyond set. Just in time for the new standard season! Picture unrelated.
"We are thinking about considering creating concepts of a plan to improve the ban schedule, a problem which has been a known pain point since at least June 2024. Pwease bear with us."
Its 2024; there's a card printed that's too hard to interact with profitably in standard, it must be banned!
Witch King by Martha Wells Technically this is a re-read in preparation for the sequel, which comes out in October, but it's my list and I can do what I want. I *love* this book. It's my favorite book written by Martha Wells. Her Murderbot series justifiably takes a lot of the spotlight...
But if you close your eyyyyyyyyyyes Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all? And if you close your eyes Does it almost seem like you've been here before?
It's a good sign for format health when judges are handing out play aids for convoluted combo turns right?
Is standard flourishing Wizards? Asking for all of us that have to play an RC season before the next ban windows.
Translation State by Ann Leckie 👍 I really enjoyed the Imperial Raadch Trilogy and this book continued to impress me. In comparison to the Trilogy it's less epic in scope and not a military sci fi novel, but those changes work really well for the book. The book essentially tells the story of three
