This earthquake shows up clear as anything in the #CORK borehole pressure data from 1027C (plugged into the @oceannetworks.ca cabled observatory)! Maaaan do I wish we had Middle Valley hooked up....857D is way closer to the epicenter. :(
Welp the ONC OBS data aren't up yet, but I did manage to grab a plot of the tiltmeter data from near 1027C in Cascadia Basin, which is well SE of the epicenter.

"longer-term passive cooling" Lol...conductive heat flow is FAMOUSLY lower than it should be at/near the ridge crest....it's how venting was first theorized in the 70s!!! (Image from the original Sclater et al. paper...dots are measurements and lines are modeled conductive heat flux)
I did a CD dig at a local NPR/college radio station fundraiser last weekend and it was EXCELLENT. My hands were so grody afterwards 😅
Some more #OOI context: size. Please see below for how large some of the floats and instruments are. These aren't things you can just go grab with a dinghy. 🤦♀️ Specialized research vessels (and occasionally deep submergence vehicles) are absolutely required.
The longer cable on The Regional Cabled Array extends all the way out to Axial Seamount at the ridge crest. Active hydrothermal vents are monitored, as well as vertical seafloor uplift (used to infer caldera inflation/deflation). Map and list of instruments below.
The Continental Margin Array (which appears to be the same thing as the Endurance Array? IDK) covers Hydrate Ridge and the base of the continental slope. Map and list of instruments below.
And now the most complex array, the Regional Cabled Array, which comprises multiple cabled areas. I'll separate out each below.
Now we move over to the Pacific side. The northernmost array is at Station Papa. Map and list of instruments below.
Next is the Pioneer array, which includes instruments deployed offshore of southern New England (images 1 and 2) and Virginia near Nag's Head (image 3). Map and list of instruments below.
