Who's who? I often look up melanistic, leucistic or albino animals so it's easier to spot what defines each species shape-wise. A white lioness looks nothing like a stripeless white tiger. And then there's the variation per individual... Apologies for the lack of image credits, answer in comments.

You can tell pretty clearly that the artist (Ronald Sinoo) is into birds more than anything, haha
I need to look it up, but the magazine that has this comic on the back has a drawing in it that I sent in, around 2001 or so. Don't remember the phrase but it was a rebus puzzle with a blackbird in it...
For some reason the bittern going HOOMP was the funniest thing ever to me when I was 10 (I still never saw one irl, sniff)
I have all the comics because I kept every magazine from the past 27 years, but I only had the first album, so I raided marktplaats.nl for the other three. I guess they stopped with albums at some point, there should be enough material for at least two more... (picture dump incoming)

Also, just looked up the dino your design is inspired by (I've never seen JP don't end me) and that makes it even way more obvious. Closest I found was someone's cartoon drawing which is still far removed. The face mostly seems to have been based on that illustration at the top of the campaign page.
Check out these thylacine WIPs! These are color tests for specific enamel colors. The stripes will be silk screen printed on near the end of the manufacturing process, so they're not part of the molded metal line art.
Had a fun and exhausting time at Vienna Comix! I really enjoy this event, it's still like the old school 'banana boxes with 1 euro comic and piles of random figurines' events, but there are lots of kids, teens, cosplayers/fursuiters, (indie) comic artists and people selling their own work as well.
My friend Tim loves drawing them, he makes great background full of atmosphere. Need to look those up, but here's an older longer one (most of the Dutch ones are short, up to 5 pages) of which I always really enjoyed the art, 'The Great Train Robbery'. Also, cute Tower ravens
