Saw some wanted posters by the side of the road for the Harrisia Cactus I noticed growing recently. Some very nasty needles on them.

Stopped in to visit the Australia Telescope Compact Array near Narrabri in NSW Australia. Very interesting. The visitor centre is unmanned but has a very informative video playing that we watched. Enjoyed looking around there and learnt a lot.

Took a photo of what is not allowed at the sports oval. Won't be parking overnight there.

Stopped off at Gil Weir near Miles in Queensland and was very impressed to see the bash toilet system and process of handling the waste, reducing smell and helping the environment is starting to catch on. We hope to see more of this amazing invention at other stops.

Spent last night at the pub across the road from the Moura Rotary Park. Lovely spot with a great little pub. The park has plenty of room, toilets and potable water for only $5 a night donation. Wish I could have stayed another night but off to see Isla Gorge.

Camped up at the Staircase Range Cutting near Rolleston Queensland Australia. Nice little campsite off the highway and we have it all to ourselves at the moment. Heading into Emerald tomorrow. Weather is a beautiful 23'c and sunny again.

Finally got to Carnarvon Gorge National Park in Queensland Australia. It has a reputation of being one of the nicest parks with the best walks in Australia and we have wanted to visit for some time. We walked over 10km in the day and saw the Nature Walk, Moss Garden and...see photos for text

Some photos from around Lake Nuga Nuga campground in Queensland Australia. Google search to find out what plant it is with the yellow flowers. Mexican Poppy or Argemone ochroleuca it turns out. A toxic invasive weed. Some of the many kangaroos by the lake and an impressive bird nest.

We left the bikes at home and tried to climb the mountain next to us. Really nice view from up there. The Wallaby's around here even climb right up there. Susie got about half way up it. Further than me. I stopped and had a rest and investigated these strange little ants I found up there.

A Gold Butt Ant or the Shiny Bum Ant or more accurately, the Golden-Tailed Spiny Ant. Here endeth today's nature lesson.

around the lake. It is one of the largest lakes in the Central Queensland sandstone belt. There is an incredible amount of bird life here and some big mobs of Kangaroos. One of the photos is a list of the birds and animals found here.

Carnarvon Range overlooking Arcadia Valley in North Queensland Australia. Stopped for a look on our way to Nuga Nuga Lake campground. We drove through the Lonesome section and are making our way to Carnarvon Gorge.

Stopped to check out the old Injune coal mine on the way into Injune Queensland Australia. Nice to see everyone respecting the visitors diary and leaving artefacts they have found for others to see.

Last night dinner in Roma at the White Bull tavern. Roast lamb. Yum. Bumped into Jamie that we met in Emerald in 2024 which was a lovely surprise. He lives in Roma now. Doing the Big Rig tour at the Roma visitor information centre in Queensland. A very informative tour well presented with amazing stories and an impressive use of technology. The ride up and down in the elevator was very impressive and one of the best displays and use of technology I have..see coment
