I am excited that Governor Spanberger signed my bill HB215 into law on the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. With her signature, Virginia rejoins the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) to ensure our voter rolls are accurate and up to date.
Today we commemorate 61 years of the historic Voting Rights Act. I am proud to champion and support legislation that expands the right to vote here in the Commonwealth with my colleagues in the House.
Today is National Intern Day! Thank you to our summer intern, Adwoa, for all the great work and support she provides to our team. She has a bright future in public service ahead of her!

This July, we honor the memory of Bebe Moore Campbell, a mental health advocate who worked to shed light on the mental health needs of the Black community and other underrepresented communities. #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth
Honored to be appointed by Speaker Scott to serve on these important commissions. This is a chance to keep delivering for District 19 and for families across Virginia. I am ready to get to work; thank you for the trust and the opportunity.
Today I celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, stepfathers, and chosen family who shape our lives. I also hold space for those for whom today aches; the grieving, the longing, the ones carrying loss. Wherever today finds you, you are seen. Happy Father’s Day!
Earlier this month I joined the Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce as they cut the ribbon on their new statewide headquarters in Downtown Fredericksburg. Black-owned businesses build our communities; this is what investing in them looks like. Congratulations, VABCC.
Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, we honor that freedom, remember the struggle behind it, and recommit to the work still ahead. Happy Juneteenth. ✊🏾
Great to spend time with @EASCarpenters yesterday — 43,000 skilled tradesmen and women building our communities and fighting for fair wages, safe job sites & dignity on the job. When labor is strong, working families are strong.
Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ members of the Virginia General Assembly; their leadership is building a stronger, more inclusive Commonwealth for every Virginian.
HB26 has FINALLY been signed into law! Virginians serving time for marijuana offenses no longer treated as crimes now have a path home. Years of hard work from former patrons and advocates, but we got the job done!
Today @GovernorVA signed HB625, capping co-pays on life-saving prescriptions so Virginians won’t choose between rent and the medication keeping them alive. Proud to carry this with @RussetPerry. Thanks to every advocate, patient, & family who pushed this across the finish line.
Today I celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, foster moms, and chosen family who shape our lives. I also hold space for those for whom today aches; the grieving, the longing, the ones carrying loss. Wherever today finds you, you are seen. Happy Mother's Day.
Big day for Virginia healthcare. Governor Spanberger has signed HB746 into law — because healthcare should be accessible to every Virginian, no matter your zip code. ✅ Expanding Access to Care ✅ Reducing Barriers ✅ Protecting Patient Safety More providers. Less red tape.
🚨FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE‼️🚨 House Bill 38, introduced by Delegate Henson, mandates mental health training in schools and has been signed by the governor.

Honored to receive the endorsement of the Virginia AFL-CIO! Their support means everything as we fight for working families, fair wages, and strong unions. Together, we’ll build an economy that works for everyone. #UnionStrong #WorkingFamilies
This Labor Day, we honor the workers who built America and continue fighting for dignity, fair wages, and safe workplaces. Every weekend, 8-hour day, and worker protection was won through solidarity. The fight continues. #LaborDay #UnionStrong
What an incredible evening at the Woodbridge Democrats fundraiser! 🇺🇸 So inspiring to hear from our special guest Anne Holton, whose dedication to public service and advocacy for education and families continues to motivate us all.
July may be ending, but our fight for women’s health never stops. 💜 Last year, I sponsored legislation to make July Uterine Fibroids Awareness Month in Virginia. We just wrapped up our second year of shining a light on a condition that affects 26 MILLION women nationwide.
