Because I've been immersed in Lithuanian stuff for the past 5 years at work while also learning how to cook food from Poland and the surrounding region, I was really amused to watch the NYT bungle the provenance of one of the best hot weather summer soups.

y'all, I'm just curious if this is an art world thing or if this is a thing elsewhere because it's the first time I've seen "Appalachian" as an ethnicity or is it just a way to report that "you went to an avant-garde cultural event and you didn't come from money."
Now that I'm done with eyerolling at fancy UK restaurants named after the region my ancestors came from, I just ordered this through the library and am very glad someone decided to write a book about labor history and the Polish enclave in the greater Wheeling area.

I was really hoping that the new Bread & Water Printshop drop would give me a replacement for my favorite bootleg Breeders t-shirt with my favorite line from "Last Splash" but alas (the new design is cool but this one was so great).
We got a bunch of photos from the neighbors of a former Cleveland Press photojournalist and the big surprise has been finding great photos of his wife and her neighborhood friends hanging out with puppies and playing baseball.
