Tiny baby aubergines have emerged! I am finding this exciting. The gentle lilac flowers are so attractive too. I think these will be added to my list for next year's planting. #UKGardening
A little Sunday craft - why not make this origami out of fabric? Because fabric frays unlike paper.

I just love how cheerful the courgette flowers are, greeting the sun in the morning. #bloomscrolling #ukgardening 🌱🇬🇧
I was "drying the tent" before putting it away 🤦♀️😆 At least I don't think I need to water the plants today 🌧️🌾🪴
We've nearly finished our Expo Bingo - should have made it harder! Only the geese to go... @ukge.bsky.social #ukge
The world is a bit shit at the moment, so currently inward focused survival mode is activated. Beautiful rose in my garden (the rose bush has looked after itself this year so I'm surprised anything has sprouted). Its scent is gorgeous, and reminds me of my grandad's garden in my childhood.
This is Douglas, as he's so very sure of himself and his position. I remind the kids often that I provide them with their aeroplane....
A lovely morning at the community farm. Ice still on the cavalero nero leaves when we picked them. Trays of onion seeds planted up in the polytunnels. Hot tea to warm chilly fingers. Some unexpectedly solemn discussion that has lingered with me.
Snuggling up as if he hadn't just been reported to me for sleeping in someone's else's garden and worrying them that he was homeless! My teens cause fewer issues (but shh let's not tempt fate...) #CatSky #CatParent
Which way is up? This photo I took on our walk this afternoon intrigued me, sky or water?
"taking your bike for a walk?" Yes, haha very funny. This very important bit sheared off this important bit, at the farthest most point of my journey. My bike repair kit being about as useful as a plaster at a major trauma, bike totally kaputt for time being and an unexpected journey on foot.
First book of 2025 - actually, it's a continuation from last year, but it's what I'm reading today. #booksky 💙📚 #DailyBook Day1
"I am not impressed with this behaviour and there will be no more of it". The cat has confiscated his brush. He prefers to remain tangled. Fine.
Why I love my tween: I put the kettle on, and then wander off to rummage in the shed for chain degreaser. Shortly after he shouts 'the tea fairy has made some tea'. Never underestimate the caring shown in simple actions, and the impact it has on others.
This plant is usually just green leaves, but every so often it redeems itself and pops up a gorgeous flower for a few weeks.
This sort of wildlife is much easier to capture on film 😆 - the fancy gatepost to a nearby nature reserve.
