comment says: hi i like never comment but i just had to say i absolutely adored this work and reading it. you have SUCH a way with words it all feels very poetic to me and the way you’re able to handle shane’s complex inner thought process abt wanting and not feeling allowed and just needing release is so beautiful and impressive! the lack of quotations and periods at points definitely added an extra layer to all that in a way that made shane’s thoughts seem so much like his absolute reality. also of course it was very hot and the tension was very well developed lol, but this just really stood out to me as a reader as an amazing commentary on the characters and who they are as opposed to just a smutty story about them. the line “ The year is one long panic attack punctured only by excellence and violence” was so moving and powerful to me because it’s exactly what this entire fic feels like in one sentence. thank you for sharing your work!!

Shane gets a release to a degree, but I’m not sure it’s a full one. I think there’s still a degree to Shane where it’s like, a part of me wanted a bigger release. I remember leaving and going, “I wish I could pour myself into it and completely get vulnerable.” As an actor, that’s never really been that hard for me. I was retroactively trying to figure out why am I not fully able to get this. But then, I was like, “Oh, it’s Shane who isn’t able to get that fully.” It’s a little bit of a release he gets but even still, he’s avoiding her a little bit. He can’t look her in the eyes and feel completely like he’s lived to all the standards of what he thinks this unwritten idea of what a man is between them.
