It's heartbreaking how Christopher Nolan had to grovel at the feet of post-Covid DEI to achieve any success, nevermind avoid the tragic fate of anonymous obscurity. 😔

Ope, got into the metallic again

It's interesting to me when someone draws their own persona in a way that I would consider unnecessarily mean if I was drawing an unkind caricature of someone I didn't like.

Thanks for posting this. Following up, I learned some of the bombings of Utsunomiya afterwards happened 81 years ago on this day. Both attacks had a profound effect on the art of Hayao Miyazaki, who fled and survived both. It's been a disservice to be a fan of his work and not dig deeper on this.

More seed origin mysteries unlocked via some newly voracious squirrels.

Correction: two new bombshells

A tightly cropped closeup shot of a small pitcher plant seedling. Each stem branches into a thick shape of a bisected heart, the top of the heart extending into a thin tendril that expands out again into a robust, vaguely phallic hollow tube of green plant matter dappled with small red spots and lined with fuzzy spines, curling upright into a proverbial lid over the opening of the pitcher. There are two such pitchers, with a third leaf sprouting a new growth that will become a pitcher at the end of its tendrils. The entire plant is scarcely larger than a quarter, surrounded by a square of slimy green moss. That square itself is surrounded by a larger pot filled with white pebbles of perlite, chips of orchid bark, and light brown scraggly lengths of spaghnum moss.

This week, a hot new bombshell enters the villa

Really neat clarity on just how maple trees sprout out of each whirly little key seed.

A trio of photos collaged together, each depicting a hand holding a different sprouted maple key in its palm. The pale brown paddle shaped winged seed pods are split open into a pointed void of bright green, feeding the new plant from the top of the lower quarter of the new infant trees. The rest of the bottom quarter is a small tangle of white roots, joining the seed pod with a flush of pink. Most of the plant is the upper 3/4,most of which is a long straight green shoot, culminating at a cluster of 4-5 small newborn maple leaves.

Throwback to when a random pair of Mugler boots bullied me into drawing fanart of Joker's new girlfriend, Punchline. I definitely like the preliminary stages more than the overworked final, but this was back before I could commit to hard shadows. Eh, it's good to get carried away sometimes 💜
