Halifax Transit implemented several service changes on Monday, May 18. These include routing and scheduling adjustments on multiple bus routes to support upcoming construction and to improve service efficiency and connections across the network. More info: halifax.ca/servicechanges
Halifax Transit is offering a new way for riders to keep track of service updates. Residents can now visit halifax.ca/realtime-alerts and filter by their preferred route to quickly see real-time detours, trip cancellations, stop closures, and snow plan notifications, all in one place.

Public Wi-Fi at Halifax Transit terminals will be discontinued as of today, April 1, 2026. Before you ride, be sure to purchase your fare. HFXGO tickets and passes can be bought using mobile data or any Wi-Fi connection.

Taking the ferry? Activated HFXGO mobile tickets and passes must now be scanned when boarding, just like on the bus. Hold your phone to the validator to scan your ticket or pass QR code. You’ll hear a beep and see a message when it’s accepted.
