Wilco are always a great live experience, but last at the Hammersmith Apollo was particularly special. Maybe it was the choice of songs (a lot of favourites from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot), the view (decently close for once) or even that the audience were up for it (and not talking!).
This was left in our garden tonight - I've somehow managed to resist having a go (strong suspicion it's alarmed)
The other newcomer to TitCam™ is this juvenile Robin - getting less scruffy every day
For a long time we've just had Pigeons and Blue Tits on TitCam™, but the other day, we had this handsome Starling. Today it brought the whole rowdy family
Just seen a man talking his barbecue for a walk - in this heat do try and walk your barbecues earlier in the day as the hot pavements are bad for their feet
My older brother (on the right) just sent me this photo of us, taken in Victoria Park, Leamington Spa in the early 70s. The way he's dressed, it could be now, or any time over the last 50 years. The way I'm dressed, I was going to say no, but on second thoughts. My hair shone always like a curly be
I’ve changed the way I work on these. I still use Adobe Fresco to create the final vector version (it’s still the only tool with proper vector painting capabilities), but I use @iconfactory.com Linea Sketch for the sketch phase. It’s _so_ much quicker to get basic ideas down and refine them.
One more for the list, from when I found out what the Old English word for a Kestrel was. (The band I used are real, can't remember who they were though)
Found Pistachio mini magnums in the supermarket, which had made my heart go all fluffery buffery.
Waitrose Scotch Egg Sandwich 🥪 4/5 🥪 Crumbled Scotch Egg, egg mayo, chilli relish & spinach on multiseed bread. Better than expected! The relish makes it work, and the bread is tasty and soft. The same ratio of ingredients, just more of them, would be a 5! 😍 #TVMarketingTieInSandwichReview
Haven’t been well enough to go birding, so spent the afternoon getting back in the groove of a new illustration for the Supernatural Detectives Field Guide. Time has been against me in this project, no updates in almost a year, but still plodding on. Feels more important to me than ever…
This is such a beautiful album, and this track in particular Friday Afternoon from Philadelphia by Shabason, Krgovich & Harris album.link/i/1599546200
To celebrate the launch of Chase Bliss’ new guitar pedal “Big Time”, my mate Doug Tolley is touring the South of England to demonstrate and play at ruins, beaches and pubs. I got the pleasure of making the poster to promote it:
I got the @sisterraydavies.bsky.social remixes 10” and it came with a Florida style “Greetings from Holy Island” postcard 😂
My March in music, courtesy of Albums app. Blackwater Holylight’s ‘Not Here Not Gone’ got a lot of plays in this month…
Wife used “find my phone” to get my attention in Covent Garden. Nice that you get an email notification too
Yesterday, Paul McCartney announced a new album “The Boys of Dungeon Lane”, named after where he played as a kid. In a brilliant piece of marketing, he’s inserted himself into Street View, stealing the street sign and running off with it! maps.app.goo.gl/WAGbbU9ubCuS...
Back on my music app criteria shtick again - in Tahoe 26.4, Apple Music has gained a (kind of) immersive view. Could be bigger tho.
A great night out to see Warrington Runcorn New Town Development Plan! @warringtonruncorn.com. The live sound was really bassy and heavy, and the hypnotic visuals of 70s/80s films felt like time travel.
Looking out my office window, and the Muntjacs are back! Of course it would be perfectly in line with a dirty spot on the glass. (With a soundtrack of The Besnard Lakes)
Had a Hot Cross Bun bacon and egg sandwich with brown butter. It felt like a good idea, but one to file under “a bit much”
