Goodness #CS3 was super busy tonight on the way home. Was like a full Tube Strike day. Also starting to get significant congestion on #CS2... we're going to need bigger bike lanes. @cs3cs6count.bsky.social tonight's counts (very low given how busy things were)
Slightly less hot today and a nasty headwind on the way home (but a cooling breeze was very welcome!). Bike lanes brisk rather than super busy. Counter glitched to 0 while I was standing there, missed about 3 riders and restarted again.... Counts tonight @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Very busy bike lanes again on yet another ridiculously hot day. Super busy even if the counter doesn't appear to reflect it.... @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
I had a lovely bimble out to Rainham today, although I did cop a nasty nettle sting stopping to let some cyclists through on the currently very narrow paths at Rainham Marshes. Nettle stings are owie! Haven't had one in years. Currently enjoying Argentina v Scotland (rugby). V fun.
Not veggie but fruit/squeaky cheese recipe came through with my Riverford box this morning. Strawberry, cucumber & halloumi salad
I spent a good deal of today thinking it was Friday. And the commute home was as #FeralFriday as any Friday. On a Thursday. Not just motorists but felliw cyclists as well. Lads, we're all just trying to get home safely. After the glitches it did start counting again @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Was cycling about London today including finding my way home from Soho where I haven't been in an age. And had a lovely lunch with friends while I was there. Late lunch time scores @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Jesus, Mary, Joseph and thr little donkey. #feralFriday started early today and got worse as the day went on. Multiple da serous incidents on the way home and traffic chaos in Stratford (hurrah for #CS2!) Counts this evening from a VERY glitchy totem @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Hace demasiado calor. No me gusta. But it's good for cycling numbers. That's the busiest I've seen it outside Tube Stroke days. Even if the counter says just north of 12k for the day. Think that's maybe 2.5k too low.... @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
He's home and looking v smart with new tyres! He's not a fancy bike, but he's definitely been a gateway drug into cycling and I'm now absolutely hooked. Amazing how such a simple contraption is so compelling isn't it?
Here he is I think in the 1990s with the European Cup, won by Celtic in 1967 by the Lisbon Lions. Dad's uncle was a Celtic player back in the day. The "brothers" (photo 2) were all fairly mad keen on the Celtic.
Looking forward to having a nice chat with my wonderful dad tonight. I'm a total daddy's girl. We share a love for football, rugby, horses, Glasgow and we very much share a sense of humour. He's magic. He's a wee old man now, but he's still my dad. Even caring for mum didn't kill his humour.
Behold the amazing raspberry macaron (giant) i had in Avignon last month.... it was magical
Again, I think the counter is definitely missing people - only 4900 by lunchtime today feels low by about 1500 or so... Counter was working when I was there but.... @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Bike lanes v busy today again. Everyone seems to have their sexy summer bikes out. The Supersix Evo was a particular favourite as was the guy wearing the EF Giro (alien) kit. Counts at 640 @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Today has been rather lovely. Scotland won a game at the World Cup, Brazil and Morocco only drew, and I had a lovely bike ride out to Rainham Marshes and delicious cake at Rainham Hall.
To add to the hemlock, cow's parsley or giant hogweed discourse, this, lads and lasses, is giant hogweed - the leaves are the giveaway.... giant hogweed mostly is found near rivers. Some of this was a good 7 feet tall at Rainham Marshes
Totally forgot to post this yesterday but a real summer evening commute last night. Without a rain jacket too! Whoop! @cs3cs6count.bsky.social counts Friday just before 7pm
Bike lanes very busy again today. I don't think I've ever seen congestion like it on CS2 through Whitechapel etc this morning. Deary me. Counts at 7pm. @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Tube Strike Day 2. A bit drier than earlier in the week (hurrah!), so the bike lanes were much busier. Cool yer jets Rapharati- we all just want to get home safe. Counts at 640 @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Another slightly soggy day out on the bike (thankfully it was dry when I got home) to ride over to the gym and back. My jacket had dried since yesterday which is good (yay). Scores at 1230ish @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
I took a couple of photos on my commute home this evening (besides roadworks and cyclist counters).... the light was so beautiful, as if the weather was pretending that nothing happened today.
Small warning roadworks on the Milbank entrance to Parliament Square. Just mix with the traffic and you can't use the cycle filter. Marvellous.
A biblically wet commute in this morning, amd a dry and sunny commute home. Go home weather, you're drunk. Counts at 650pm @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Absolutely scorchio out there today. Was so nice to have a day sitting in an air conditioned office! V tempted to take a sleeping bag in and stop there overnight. Bike lane v busy. No idea how many Lime etc bikes there are in London... Counts at 650pm (was 10105) @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
Apologies to @secretsquidgle.bsky.social if I nearly ran over one of his family members today. Silly squiggle wandered across the road. But I avoided him/her and they made it safely across the road. Bit warm for cycling, but nice to be out again, and delicious Viccy Sponge at Rainham Hall.
The counter is back up and running! Woohoo. And I'm back commuting after a holiday and a week of not being v well. Counts at around 705pm @cs3cs6count.bsky.social
